In my Trivia thread I noted that former Chiefs coach John Mackovic is now the Head Coach of the US National Team of "American Football" that plays for what is known as "The World Cup of American Football".

Here is a link to the Wikipedia site:

Note, ironically that the World Cup of American Football has never actually been held in America. It has been held in Italy, Germany, Japan, and is scheduled to be held in Austria in 2011. Also note ironically that America, more specifically, the United States of America, didn't even participate in the first two World Cup of American Football championships, (both won by Japan!) but that in the third tournament, held in Japan, the US did actually win, but only by a score of 23-20 in the championship game.

    Questions:

    1. Do you think in 2011 that the US should send, say, The Chicago Bears to play in the World Cup? (Chicago chosen to allow it to get retribution for being snubbed for the 2016 Olympics)

    2. Do you think that someday the "World Cup of American Football" will someday surpass the Super Bowl in importance and will pit the NFL Champion against teams from other nations for world football....err, uh, I mean World American Football Supremacy?

    3. Do you think if that happened that Steeler fans would then have to swallow the argument that "nothing that happened before the World Cup of American Football was played by NFL teams really counts"? thus having to swallow their own crow?

Oh, here is a link to an article about the US National American Football team:

John Mackovic as mentioned is HC, but it president is former Ohio State player Todd Bell.

And here is a link to info about the "International Federation of American Football"

Again, I note in irony that its headquarters are in France and it is headed by a Swede.

I think NFL teams should start sending scouts to Japan and Mexico.
