Would you be surprised?

With the possibility of Delhomme being injured with this high ankle would you be surprised if Brett Ratliff were signed to be the backup QB?

No.
I was thinking the same when this happened. Not that Ratliff is any good, or even much better than McCoy at this point, but he is ready where McCoy isn't ready. Ratliff has had 3 years....maybe 4?...at any rate....he is better equipped at this point to take over as a 3rd stringer pushed to 2nd stringer, pushed in to starting duty.

Even if it were possible- let's move on. Regardless- IMHO Wallace should start against the Ravens- there were numerous plays against the Chiefs where Wallace avoided the sack- that Jake would have been to slow to avoid.

Wallace without question should start this Sunday. The ratbirds with be blitzing like crazy and are still pouting from the Who-daze game where they lost without Cintucky scoring a TD. He will need to be ready to run. Would sure like to see a load of the "WildDawg" to try to open things up. Even some dink and dunk passing would not hurt to try.

Since the Eagles have given up on Kolb the Browns should make an offer.

OK, but the point of this thread is this:
A. Delhomme is hurt. A high ankle sprain could keep him out of action for multiple weeks. He was inactive last week and he may be again for several weeks more.
B. We all agree, do we not, that McCoy is not ready to take over significant action with an NFL team.
C. Wallace certainly, easily could get hurt.
Ergo:
D. Into which QBs hands would you put the Browns if Wallace went down? Jake out, Colt not ready. I just thought of Ratliff because he was here last year and pretty much all of training camp and he knows the system. Plus, is it not a fact that you can claim someone off another team's practice squad if you put him on your 53 man roster?
E. If not Ratliff....what are the other alternatives?
