The clock management at the end of the half was done correctly. They had just taken a sack and the last thing they wanted to do at that point was give the ball back to Cincy with enough time left. Subsequently, they let it run down and then got some of the yards back. Then dumbass St Clair jumped so they had no choice but to punt rather than give Cincy the ball again if they didn't convert 4th and 12. They were way out of range even before the penalty, the ball was cold and not traveling well down there today.

See the main diiference is that the eagles have talent and we don't. It's like saying "the saints were busy winning the superbowl last year while the browns were sitting on their asses wrapped in snuggies just watching the game!"

If it was against a tough team then your statement is perfectly valid.
But, Both our TD drives showed that we do have enough to get the win against the Bengals. We just did not give it enough effort. If we had gone on to get a touchdown in the drive where we had to settle for the fieldgoal then we would have won now. We are capable of winning the game and we just did not finish it.

I was ok with them being competitive until they proved they could get quality wins. I say they hit the reset button with the coaching staff because it's not like this team isn't capable of winning. I wouldn't object to Gruden coaching the Browns not at all. We'll see what happens though.

Clearly some of the other posters on here have no clue how a good football team is built. Holmgren needs and most likely will just sit back and give mangini till his contract is up which is the end of next season.
imagine if some of the truly great teams had fans like we do. Chuck Knoll, Vince Lombardi, Bill Walsh would have never gotten anywhere.
What we're seeing here in 2010 is precisely what happened in NE a decade ago. It worked for them then, and it wiill work for us now. Why? Because it's the only way it's ever worked in pro football. Just ask Paul Brown. Or Vince Lombardi. Or Tom Landry. .02, Clemdawg -

Mangini has done far more to prove to me he's a good coach than you have done to convince me you are older than twelve!
BTW, if your sources are your Teachers, I would question their (that's the CORRECT spelling) knowledge.

Ok I'll give you that. But even you have to admit....something has to change with the play calling. Or something needs to be done with players that don't play well. To a lot of fans....it seems as if the status quo is acceptable for Mangini. That's all they're saying. All of those fore mentioned coaches of yours knew how to make adjustments and dealt with poor play. That's why they were the winning coaches that they were. Some people are sick of seeing Mangini and the gang call the same plays over and over and not fixing the fundamental problems with players that aren't playing well.

It's easy to claim to have "sources" when its being reported basically all over the internet that Mangini will be fired and Gruden will be the next coach if we're willing to pay him $7 million per season.
My sources are reading the headline on AOL.
