  • I have us at 10-5-1.....we will be 3-1 at Bye week.

Von Miller intercepts Schaub & returns it 57 yds for a TD in Reliant Stadium, securing a 31-31 tie vs the Texans, our first tie since 1989.

I want to be optimistic as hell, but the facts are the end of the year is brutal. Who the hell decided that playing the Ratbirds & Steelers in a 4 day span was a good idea? And they thought players had head injuries from football? Has ANY team ever had to do that? Oh well, if you want to contend, you have to win your division games.

I look at that schedule and I see 16-0 ... although that game at San Francisco could be a total trap game.

Love that....why the hell did I predict any losses at all?

nice harry potter reference. hey, optimism is fine. realism is better though, and i think the reality of the situation is that its gonna take another year to even see any positives shumur can bring to the team because of this lockout. if the lockout ends soon then i'd say you guys could do 7-9, but only IF it ends VERY soon.

  • Too early for a prediction until we see what happens with the lock out and who we take in the draft.

Well, if it wasn't a Harry Potter reference it could have been a Ralph Kramden referenc:

    Homina homina homina.

Whatever they say it would be some unintelligible, gutteral exclamation.

Or we could channel Darren McGavin from A Christmas Story: "You used ALL the glue on purpose!"

  • Sorry, this old fart thinks it's a tad early to make predictions. We still have the draft to go through. Trades, the lockout, etc. Ask me in August.

    Okay popeye

  • I was stoked as hell to see this schedule! You have to take into consideration that 9 of the 11 losses we had last year were less than 10 points with an extremely tough schedule. There isn't a whole lot to fix. If we can run a successful West Coast and make a smooth transition to 4-3, I don't see any reason we can't get in the playoffs. Baltimore is the only team I see as a threat in the division. Shittsburgh's defense is too old and their corner's are garbage, last year was their last playoff run for at least 5-6 years. *crossing fingers*

  • I gave my honest predictions because I want to see if I change any of my picks after the draft, free agency and pre-season (football gods willing).

  • Zombo said:

Wow! Four of last five is Ravens & Steelers ... gonna be exciting!

Who was the genius who created this schedule? The last 5 games will be like playoff games if we have a team that is in the running. And with that said, if we make the playoffs I hope that we are healthy enough to compete.

  • Ok guys where are your AARP cards?

Everyones too old to go out of their comfort zone and predict things I guess.

I just find it too hard with all of the variables.

    new coach

    New O

Does the lock-out impact our ability to practice??

If things go well, we can win 9-10 games.

If things go poorly.....then it is 2-5 games.

I will say this....the Opener against Cincy will tell much. If we lose that game, it's going to be a long season. We follow that game with Indy on the road...a tough game to win.

If we start 0-2, with a tough end of season schedule that might pile on 2-3 losses minimum, we're done.

We need to win 7 of the first 11 games...and it starts with Cincy.

  • I'll add this.....looking at the schedule...we need to win 6 of the 8 home games minimum. 7 is more the number.

In 16 or so years on this and predecessor boards I have never made a prediction on the outcome of any particular game. I have made predictions on who may win the SB or divisions titles, but never on individual games.

    just couldn't help yourself huh?

yeah, i can see how us finishing as the top D in the league would lead you to believe we're on our way down πŸ™„ .

hate to tell you, but everyone in baltimore knows exactly how to get to the superbowl and the road goes through the Pittsburgh Steelers. blow the rat birds all you want (lord knows everyone did last year) but we still beat them 2 out of 3 times and the only time they DID beat us was with our 84th string QB playing and that was STILL a last second victory on their part.
