    1. The traditional opener of the NFL exhibition season is the Hall of Fame Game in Canton. The lockout threatens that game. I do understand that the Induction Ceremony will go forward as planned, but the game is in jeopardy. (I believe the Bears and Rams are scheduled to play).

What should be done as an alternative to having these NFL teams play?

    2. Are the Cleveland Indians really for real?

    3. OK, What's Not to Like. Any ideas on what the Cavaliers should do with the 1st and 4th picks of the NBA draft?

    4. So, now, Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed that he had a child 10 years ago by a staff member and amazingly it was kept quiet all this time. So what should Ahnold do now:

    run for another political office

run back to Austria to get away from his wife? (remember, the Kennedy mantra was "don't get mad" get even)

    run back to making movies

    or what?

    5. What was the last book you read. How was it?

My own opinions on these subjects:

The game is scheduled for Sunday August 7th. My original thought was to have a high school or a college game scheduled instead, but the is too early for either HS or college. I don't think it would be appropriate to have another sport play, like soccer or baseball. Plus I think they already have the whole NFL circus events already scheduled for that weekend.

Maybe they can bring in a couple of semi-pro teams and have them play a recreation of a Canton Bulldogs/Akron Pros game, or some such thing. Or, maybe the Arena League can have their title game played that weekend

    2. Are the Cleveland Indians really for real?

Uhm, I think so. They may be in at least the AL Central race for the long haul.

    3. OK, What's Not to Like. Any ideas on what the Cavaliers should do with the 1st and 4th picks of the NBA draft?

Simple: take the best players available when those picks come up. Its not like they can't use help at ever position. They need everything, so go get anything

    4. So, now, Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed that he had a child 10 years ago by a staff member and amazingly it was kept quiet all this time. So what should Ahnold do now:

    run for another political office

run back to Austria to get away from his wife? (remember, the Kennedy mantra was "don't get mad" get even)

    run back to making movies

    or what?

He'll Be Back. Most probably going back to movies. He already apparently signed a 3 picture deal, though who knows if this scandal will affect him there. Having a bastard child could hurt a political career in this country, but I don't know why anyone would give a crap about it if he were to do movies. Would you NOT go to see an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie simply because he had this child? It wouldn't stop me.

Although I heard another suggestion that he should go to Europe and run for politics there in the EU. The thing there is that the British don't want to vote for a German/Frenchman/Italian etc. etc. and likewise for all the other countries. But they might go for a small country Austrian with a high profile in America. The belief is that they could give a crap what kids he may have fathered in America. They would just look at his celebrity and his gubernatorial experience.

    5. What was the last book you read. How was it?

Dead or Alive by Tom Clancy. Not his best effort. Kind of silly actually. He made it seem like there were only 5 guys in the entire country that could stop terrorism. That these 5 had to go from Africa to Europe to South America to Nevada all in the course of a few days to catch the bad guy....an Osama Bil Laden type character.

does it really matter? just give us some damn football

    2. Are the Cleveland Indians really for real?

hell to the yes. I'm so glad they are on national tv tonight..being stranded out here in hillbillyland, Texas, I haven't gotten to see 1 game all season.

    3. OK, What's Not to Like. Any ideas on what the Cavaliers should do with the 1st and 4th picks of the NBA draft?

Kyrie Irving plays baritone saxophone so we need to draft him no matter what. The 4th pick is a crapshoot, since there seems to really be only 3 elite prospects in this draft.

    4. So, now, Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed that he had a child 10 years ago by a staff member and amazingly it was kept quiet all this time. So what should Ahnold do now:

Make a movie about him protecting his child from a robot from the future where he also plays a robot from the future.

    5. What was the last book you read. How was it?

Good God I don't even know what books are anymore. I'm afraid the internet has made me dumber

    1. Celebrity Pro/Am flag football?

    2. Why not?

    3. I've never been much of an NBA fan (Not even when Jordan played) so I don't have a clue.

    4. Disappear from public life in embarrassment? What are the odds of that happening?

    5. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot An absolutely fascinating true account written in a wonderfully easy to read style. It tells about the woman who's cells were the first to be cultured for use in research and how her family reacted when they found out her cells were alive in labs all over the globe. The ethical questions raised make you want to say hmmmmmmm. I usually read more fiction than non-fiction but this was fantastic.

Can many if not most of those Celebrities in the Pro/Am game be retired ball players, including HOFers? How about Marino and Montana suiting up at QB for flag football?
