Battle of Greenfield, CA Shows Illegal Immigration Not About Race

    Stand With Arizona

Greenfield, California has a big problem: it is overrun by illegal aliens.

According to news reports, the destructive impact of thousands of illegals who work at farms and vineyards in this Salinas Valley city, has aroused the outrage of residents, who complain that these newcomers from Mexico are “clustered in overcrowded apartments and garages, throw trash into the streets, throng city parks, hold loud parties and are involved in break-ins.”

So the residents formed groups such as “Beautify Greenfield” and “Save Greenfield” to counter the impact of the illegals, and air their grievances before the City Council, such as that:

The new migrants ruined the town financially, “destroyed” its school system, caused violent crimes and were part of gangs, which are pervasive in the Salinas Valley. The migrants, “
    invaders from the south
    ,” should be deported.

Predictably, migrant “leaders” and the media called these groups “racist“. But far less predictable is the ethnic makeup of the residents who want these illegals deported.

They are Hispanics. And mostly of Mexican descent.

The illegal aliens are also from Mexico, but are from small mountain villages in the remote state of Oaxaca. They speak their own native languages – not Spanish – and keep their own customs, which unfortunately include urinating in public and keeping farm animals in residential housing. In 2009, an Oaxacan man was arrested in Greenfield after selling his 14-year-old daughter to a neighbor for marriage in exchange for beer, meat and cash.

But residents complain that police in Greenfield have refused to investigate or help deport these illegals, because – as with the

we profiled last month – they are beholden to businesses which rely on the near-slave labor and escape from state and Federal taxes these illegals provide. Gang activity has skyrocketed, and the murder rate has doubled – now four times the national average. And 90% of the murders remain “unsolved” after several years – which residents blame on a “corrupt” Chief of Police, who they also accuse of “embezzlement”. Finally they got the Council to fire the police department and outsource it to a neighboring town.

But the damage has already been done: runaway crime rates and gang violence, blighted housing, fleeing residents and large numbers of foreclosures.

In other words, exactly what so many Americans – particularly in border states – have suffered through for years, with the Federal government doing nothing about it, and everyone from the ACLU to Chamber of Commerce calling them “racists” if they utter a word of protest.

As we see time and again, the propaganda universally pimped by the mainstream media, and groups from the leftist La Raza to phony “conservative” group “Somos Republicans“, is simple and absolute:

    1. All Hispanics support illegal alien amnesty, and
    2. Opponents of illegal immigration are ‘racist.’

Clearly, the Hispanic residents of Greenfield who want these illegals deported would strongly disagree. As would the patriotic Hispanic Arizona citizens we saw last year who stood by Gov. Brewer, Sen. Pearce and S.B. 1070:

Opposition to illegal immigration is not racist, it is right.

"You planning on having a long relationship with that glass or are you going to drink it? Drink up, man. Maybe we can get another.” - Janis Joplin, 1970.

The dems need the for votes. They continue to lose all of the middle of the road voters.

But we have seen this type of behavior before, especially when you supply free welfare housing.
