Nfl Trends

Here, in the terms of the blogosphere I believe this is what is "Trending" in the NFL:
A. Gomer Pyle Specials. Teams that are a "Surprise, Surprise, Surprise". Both the Washington Redskins and the Buffalo Bills are at 2-0 and looking good doing it. These two were expected to be in the bottom 5 of the league. Perhaps not
B. Hold Your Horses on that Hegemony. After their defeat of the Steelers in week 1 everyone thought the Ravens were going to be a Las Vegas Dominatrix all season long, with their whips and chains. But the Titans brought them back to looking like your basic streetwalker with torn fishnets.
C. Le Roi C'est Morte. Vive Le Roi. As noted on another thread, it looks like the power in the AFC South has shifted. The USS Indianapolis has the sharks circling the survivors....and they look like Santa Ana being chased around in his underwear at the Battle of San Jacinto by them Texans.
D. Don't Go West Young Man. Both the NFC West and the AFC West seem to be in the Grimpen Mire of Mediocrity or worse with all the teams in those divisions.
E. Southern Scramble. A good wholesome southern style breakfast with a lot of stick to your ribs grits and waffles and pecan pie is what you have in the AFC South. Three strong teams with the Falcons, Saints and Bucs, and another with a new QB who looks like the cream in the coffee with Cam Newton.
F. Arrogant, Big Market Central Considering their location in Bristol, halfway between the big Markets of Boston and NYC we are going to have to continue to hear ad nauseum about the Pats and the Jets. The problem being of course that these are still two of the best teams in the league, so we are going to have to continue to swallow the east coast bias.
G. Lions and Packers and Bears, Oh My. Green Bay obviously seems primed to possibly repeat, Detroit seems to be for real and the Bears are going to make trouble if not make the playoffs. You have to wonder about Vikings though. The Donovan McNabb experiment isn't going so well so far.
H. The Deep. Now, this is not the movie where you can see Jacqueline Bisset running around in most of it like she was in a wet T-shirt contest with her ample breasts fully on display. No, this is much worse. These are the teams that seem to need rescue from the Marianas Trench. I don't even think the inspiration of Jackie's boobs can help these guys: The Kansas City Chiefs have been outscored 89-10 so far. And just behind them are the Seattle Seahawks who have fallen by a combined score of 57-17.
