"Jacksonville is the city with the largest land mass, with 747 square miles of land, in the CONTINENTAL US. Not the entire US. Several Alaskan cities have more sq. miles including Anchorage, Sitka, Juneau, and Wrangell. Compare Jax to Cleveland which has only 77.6 square miles. Jax is nearly 10 time larger."

Are you saying that Alaska is not in the North American CONTINENT???????????????????????

Lol....I still say I got it right in my response. I'm throwing a "challenge flag."

LOL, you beat me to it Gip. I believe "officially" the correct answer is Anchorage, if you're counting all states. However, having been there several times I can say with confidence the habitated part of the city is not much bigger than Dayton, Ohio. If you live in the 'burbs, you have moose and grizzly bears running through your back yard. Drive a couple miles East up to Glen Alps, or a few miles South on the Seward Highway to Bird Ridge, You're in total wilderness, though "Technically" inside the city limits.

Welcome to the Anchorage 'burbs. 🙂

The habitated part of Jacksonville is probably not much larger than Dayton either. Jax takes in vast areas of swampland and intercoastal waterways as well as a lot of farm country as well.
