The Browns Board

  • Beanpot's League:

With 125 points, the Redneck Roosters easily knocked off Navdawg's Browns (78) and probably thought they had the final Viagra trophy of the year locked up. But NO! Beanpot, the resident fantasy sports wizard, managed to eke out 126 points and absconded with the award. Beans defeated the Usual Suspects, 126-90, kicking the Suspects out of the Championship round of the playoffs.

The Average Joe's won their second game in a row, managing to squeeze into the #4 seed for the championship. Opponent, Believeland, lost by a nose, 99-97. The Werewolves of Linden won by an even slimmer margin over Dot the I, 88-87. Dot was able to hang onto the #3 seed despite the loss.

This makes the top four: 1. Beanpot, 2. Werewolves of Linden, 3. Dot the I, 4. Average Joe's

Zombo's WildDawgs had a shot at the final spot in the Consolation round because of a tie that would have given him an advantage; Zombo's gridiron goobers blew it with a loss in the final game. Ballantyne Buckeyes snagged the victory, 101-66. TexChainsaw Massaquoi managed to cling to the 8 spot despite a loss to the last place Greenville Mayhem, 93-82.

The Consolation Round shapes up as follows:

    5. The Usual Suspects, 6. Ballantyne Buckeyes, 7. Redneck Roosters, 8. TexChainsaw Massaquoi

    Oreo's Hangout:

One of the most interesting matchups of the final week of the season had to be The Hammer vs DD's. The Double D's were on the bubble with a Championship Round seed on the line. The Hammer had nothing to lose, having secured a playoff spot in the top 4. A victory would have given DD's a 10-3-1 record. The final score in the Hammer vs. D's matchup: 102-102. What's the opposite of an MVP? The LVP (least valuable player) award goes to Calvin Johnson (4). Double D COULD have started WR Julio Jones (21) or Miles Austin (14) or even Eric Decker (5). ANY of those receivers could have given Double D the victory. Coaches heads will roll.

Gocong or Go Home snagged the 3 spot with a 10-4-0 record as a result of a win over Kentucky Barn Burner 100-77.

Lambdo's Air Show's complete name is Lambdo's Air Show 7. Fittingly, the last regular season matchup gave Lambdo victory #7 in a row this time over Oreo's team. (Way to beat up on a poor defenseless kitty, Lambdo!) Final score: Air Show 97, Oreo 84.

Dirty Hands grabbed the Viagra by beating up on Beanpot 106-96. Hands finished with the best record in the league, 11-3-0. Beans hung on to make the Consolation Round.

Top teams: 1. Dirty hands, 2. The Hammer, 3. Gocong or Go Home, 4. Lambdo's Air Show 7.

    Next in line:

    5. DD's 6. Kentucky Barn Burner

Choo Choo's walked all over the Bronx Browns, who apparently threw in the towel. Final: 101-36.

    7. Choo Choo's, 8. Beanpot

Kamac 19 and hammertime engaged in fisticuffs with Kamac emerging on top, 66-64.
