its not possible to put a HOFer at every position. i think of a hole as a position lacking anyone to play there. we have 4 RB's currently signed. whether you like them or not does not mean there is a hole there....

  • Runningback may infact have the BIGGEST HOLE THERE after losing Hillis...

    Hardesty is made of glass

    Jackson is an unknown

Smith is an unknown practice squad player

and Obanyayaya is not good and might as well be a practice squad player...

Sign Richardson and our biggest hole then would be filled by an Elite back.

AND I would remind you to take your own advice, whereas you list QB as a hole, we have Colt McCoy. Just because YOU don't like him doesn't mean there is a hole there. 😎

Well, I listed QB because so many people here and elsewhere seem to think it is a hole for us. But I agree with you. I personally can live with Colt.

Well sure, we have bodies to fill those holes. But I don't really want a Rosie O'Donnell body. I want a Selma Hayek body.

now there is a hole I would like to fill

  • How do we fill all these Holes?

Hole at RG: I think Lavaman will go here and will be better this year.

    Hole at RT:

    Hole at WR:

Hole at RB: Sign Richardson #4

Hole at QB: There is No hole here, Colt fills this. If Colt tanks this year then we may have a hole, but now? no.

Hole at DE: Frostee Rucker and Jabaal Sheard. We might need depth.

Hole at OLB1: One of these has to be filled with GoCong to justify his new contract.

    Hole at OLB2:

Hole at CB: Chase Minnifield in the third- Haden, Minni, Skrine and Patterson.

Hole at S: Bump Sheldon back to man this spot in rotation with Young.

This leaves us the #22 and the #37 to fill OLB, WR and RT. I could see Hightower/Adams or Wright/Burfict

That leaves us to sign one more quality free agent and the 2012 Browns are set to let loose- not to mention that if we hit on any of our two fourth rounders or find any gems late in the draft we will be solid.

Oh, I feel ya Gip. That was meant for "Crazy" Choco... 😁

  • Richardson is not good enough for the #4. Blackmon, however, is - and he's more than fast enough.

We should sign tate from Houston for RB, McNeill from SD for RT. McNeill has had injuries, yes - but when he's not injured he's the best tackle available.

Minnifield at 37 will be a starter by mid-season. Or they could take another DE like Andre Branch to get pass rush. Maybe Nick Perry drops.

22 can be a good OLB like Hightower. Or they could roll the dice with Janoris Jenkins at the 22 for an immediate starter and impact player at CB.

Burfict is third day material - he has fallen that far. And I hope our 3,4 round picks are traded for Ben Tate.

has nothing to do with my like or dislike kid....

he was the 27th rated QB last year. he's just not good, and my like or dislike of his performance has no bearing on how good he is.

i understand you have a trouble with removing your man-love of college players when trying to evaluate them...but not everyone is so naive. colts a great kid, personally. professionally...he sucks.

Two things: first off, I'm not a kid- I'm 30 years old. Second, Colt was only rated 27th last year because A- He had nobody to run the ball for us. 😎 He had a team with a bad case of the dropsies and C) He was injured for the last 3 games or so...

What don't you get kid? This will be Colts first time in the pros going into the season with some continuity. WHO did he have to throw to??? WHOOOO? Greg Little was a ROOKIE coming back from a YEAR OFF! We saw what Colt can do when he beat the Pats, Saints and nearly the Jets- IN A ROW! and would have had Chansi Stucky just run out of bounds so we could kick a FG with our FRANCHISE KICKER!!!!

Geez, get a clue and get over YOUR man-crush with RG3-n-OUT...

  • ...where the hell did that smiley face come from?

  • ah ok...all colts problems are the result of other people. sure...

ya know what thats called? being an apologist. sorry....im done with you tho. if youre 30, then i really feel bad for you...well, with the the thought process of a teenager that you possess. you have enough brain cells to even remember who likes who on this board? cause ive told you several times who i preferred, yet you still think i was all in on griffin.

you talking football is akin to martha stewart lecturing on physics.....let me give you an example of just how absurd you get at times...

We saw what Colt can do when he beat the Pats, Saints and nearly the Jets- IN A ROW!

you should really think about what idiotic statements like this really mean....cause i dont think you understand that we probably read this differently than your small little mind thought it up. brady quinn showed a rare flash as well, right? so did anderson? are these good QB's? no..they're not. they caught some teams sleeping and won a miracle or 2....same with colt. he won a couple games, and he also lost quite a few more where he looked like a HS QB. every player has potential (which i think is what youre saying), but not all of them can tap it.

to the point....if you seriously think colt can be the guy based on a few select games where he had a good performances, then you should feel even better about matt flynn. cause those few select games flynn played....well, colt cant hold a candle to those performances. flynn set a couple franchise records i believe....colt can barely get above 300 yards passing. oh, better supporting cast you say? fine....kolb had plenty of weapons in philly and AZ....wanna remind me how that turned out again? blaming everyone but said player due to your man-love completely masks the real problem from you...yet to knowingly and willingly do it. i no doubt think you can say colt has no culpability in his performance with a straight face. lust can be very blinding.....

so....do you get it now? you just like players....you dont have a reason for liking players. its not a film based eval....not in any way researched. you just see a guy like TR put up monster weights and conclude he's gonna be elite.

  • 😆 WHAT? 😆

Man are you serious? You are a wierd one that's for sure.

    Care to argue with sportscience?

...Or how about 9+ minutes of GAME FLIM? ...Nah? I didn't think so RG3 Fanboy....

*I'm still waiting for an answer to any of this because as of yet you just keep puking up the same faggot comments over and over again... What more can I say to you? 😛

Hole at RG: For now, Lauvao or Greco or the like may have to do

Hole at RT: It would be nice to get Winston. Has anyone heard if he signed elsewhere? Getting him would free up the requirement to use a high draft pick there. If not, then they may need to use their 2d or 3rd round pick here.

Hole at WR: Hole at RB: If they go for Blackmon at #4 they have filled the WR hole. If they go for TR they fill the RB hole. Whichever one they take, then hopefully at #22 they get the other....either Kendell Wright/Floyd at WR or Lamar Miller at RB. The other option is to get a LaMichael James later on....but now with Hillis gone Browns need more than just a scatback, they need a hero.

Hole at QB: Colt McCoy will fill it for now....but don't be surprised if they go for Wheedon in the draft at some point.

Hole at DE: Looks like Frosty and Juqua/Fuqua are going to fill this bill, though in my opinion it is very lite filling.

Hole at OLB1: Unless they go for a Zach Brown, they must just try to get a 4th or later draft pick. Gocong isn't an answer....but we may have to go with his old/stale filling.

Hole at OLB2: Ditto here with Fujita and later round picks. Though I still see them possibly going for a mediocre FA at this spot.

Hole at CB: If they believe Claiborne is the bomb they may take him at #4. Or maybe Chase Minniefield in a later round. Otherwise we may be stuck with backup talent like Dmitri Patterson starting.

Hole at S: I have no real clue except to hope that TJ Ward stays healthy. Mike Adams is gone...no big deal. Otherwise we are stuck with Usama "You need to change your fucking name" Young at the other corner. Unless they take Claiborne, which may be a switch to safety by Sheldon Brown.

Maybe we need to start giving some of these Browns players nicknames like they had in "Holes"

Armpit, Zero, Caveman....some of these are apt.

I want you to play Stanley Yelnats and break the Browns family curse and fill all these holes.

I haven't spent much time talking about Trent Richardson. Mostly, it's because it tends to degenerate in discussions of running backs and relative draft value. Running backs are always risky. It's often very difficult to project.

While all running backs are unique, you have some basis for comparison. I say this not for the negative connotations, but when I see Trent Richardson, I see Ki-Jana Carter. I say that with the belief that if not for a couple of tragic injuries Ki-Jana Carter could have had an exemplary NFL career. Similar body types, similar running style. Richardson actually has a bit better conservation of movement a'la Emmitt Smith. He's very efficient in his body motion. You don't see a lot of hip twist or big shoulder swings.

So I go back and watch a couple of Alabama games this morning, and start playing the "he's like this guy, but..." game.

    Here are my notes verbatim:

    He's like....

    Emmitt Smith but bigger

    Ki-Jana Carter but ?

    George Rogers but smaller

Ricky Williams but has a better running posture / c.o.g. Not as fast

Herschel Walker but more compact - not as fast

When you zero in on one guy and these are the Names that jump to your mind, we're not talking about just another guy... An opinion I've thrown around from time to time.

Trent Richardson has a chance to be very good for a long time.

I think the Browns would have to play the draft value game and try to slide down into the late single digits or low teens to make it make sense. But I can't imagine anyone would be disappointed with this kid.

  • If you had 7 quarter sized holes in the bottom of your fiberglass boat would you just smack some fix a gasket silicone in them and call it repaired?

I would call that plugging the holes and lying to your buddies by saying it is fixed instead of going to the store and spending the money to get some bondo to hold it until i can get the resin at the marina to fix it right and if when we take her out far the next morning i had better damn well make sure my bilge pump is working because that fix a gasket silicone will not hold up and those holes are gonna blow back open..

The draft is the real nfl resin, but it is only available in a limited amount, bondo (FA) will hold up alright in a pinch and why this idiot regime would prefer to use perma gasket sealant just because its in their toolbox and cheap and think it will work for the long haul or is fooling anyone is beyond me, when the perma gasket starts peeling away everyone will see it as the water comes flooding in to the sinking boat and there will be no excuses this time, this regime over the past 2 seasons has passed on numerous opportunities to repair holes cheaper than they are currently plugging them both in a financial and stability sense...

Dont need big names in FA to adequately fill holes but bringing in old guys at the literal end of their careers again is going to leave some holes unfilled at the worst possible time of year and for every old vet that is playing there is a young guy that is not getting any better..

Granted, that should be obvious with us having the worst offense in the league.

Again, looking at the low level, middling players. Though I agree, just about anything could be an upgrade from our current OLBs.
