    Rumor has it Tannehill

  • If this happens it proves once again. The browns aren't looking to win just exist.

  • With this scenario these possibilities might exist:

    #15 Kendell Wright WR

    #22 Jonathon Martin OT

    #37 Janoris Jenkins CB

#46 Either Lamar Miller or Doug Martin RBs

#51 Either Lavonte David or Zach Brown LBs

And in the third round perhaps a free safely: George Iloka?

This would fill a lot of holes. Browns wouldn't get the "Superstar" but they might actually have a solid stock of talent.

Plus they would have 7 more picks in rounds 4-7.

Don't like Kendall Wright with the #15 pick, anyway he'll likely be there at 22.

At 15 do you consider DeCastro (If he's there)? I bring his name up because no way he makes it to 22. Can Pinkston be groomed as a RT sign a guy on the cheap like Marcus McNeil for a 1 year stop gap. Have Pinkston and Lavaman compete for one of the guard spots this season. Could you image Thomas, DeCastro and Mack on one side- easily the best left side in the NFL?

If your going to go to 15- you better get a Number 1 next season too. I'll give #4 for #15, #51 and 2013 1st round pick. Its time we start getting these great trade down deals the others get.

So #15, and we get to #22 the Pats come calling for Brockers. Trade #22 and #37 for #27 and #31 and a 2013 3rd Round Pick. Not like the Pats to give up picks but the need Dline help and Brockers doesn't get past Denver and he's clearly better player than a guy like Reyes who alot of people seem to put with the Pats.

At 15- Decastro or J. Martin

    27- Hill

31- D. Martin (I could see a team beginning of the 2nd round taking him- I don't think he makes it to 37)

    51- V. Curry

The big part of the deals

    2- 1's next season

    and two 3rd round picks.

I agree with this as the price, or keep the pick. If we have another 3-5 win season in 2012, that about guarantees that the Colt McCoy experiment will be over, and we may need those two first round picks to move up and get a quarterback in next years draft. (I just can't see us drafting Tannehill at 4 this season)

I am hearing rumors that the Browns and the Eagles may be involved in a trade.

The Browns would trade their #4 overall to the Eagles in exchange for their #15 overall, plus the two second round picks that they have, thus the Browns would get back for #4:

    #15, #46, #51

    Giving them overall: #15, #22, #37, #46, #51.

What do you think about them apples? Browns would have 5 of the top 51 picks. They could fill a lot of holes.

Btw, where are you hearing these rumors? And who would Philly pick at #4?? They dont need Richardson, Blackmon, or especially Claiborne haha

It was on WKNR this morning. I am not sure who they were hot after.

We could still get some of these guys if we draft our RB at 4.

    Get Martin at 22.

Pick up a receiver at 37, in this spot take the best WR available, possibly Jefferys...

We won't need that extra pick at 46 to pick a RB-we'll already have the next best in Trent.

If they really want another D player like David or Brown they could then swing a trade up and snag him.

The only thing we'll be missing out on is a Jenkins who's smallish and I prefer Minnifield if he falls some anyways.

We could alway take a swing with Vontaze if he falls in place of David or Brown. JHMO.

The Browns might do it because of the multiple holes they have. Then they would have not 3 picks in the top 51, but 5 in the top 51, and they could get solid picks at RB, WR, RT, LB, DB all of whom they would be relying on to contribute pretty immediately.

  • If this happens it proves once again. The browns aren't looking to win just exist.

No, I disagree. I think it would prove that they are interested in filling the numerous gaping holes they have on this team.

They do have those gaping holes at the 5 spots I mentioned in my previous post.

What they would be sacrificing potentially is getting one "Superstar" and getting 5 stars.

A good team needs good players at all or nearly all positions. Not just 1 or 2. I undertand their philosophy if they decide to go this route.

Right now I do not see any of the QBs that might be available next year to be even as good as McCoy.

Yes, that includes Barkley and Landry Jones. They may come overhyped, because that is all there will be, but they won't really be any better.

I agree with you here, but I would argue that Superstars can be found anywhere in the draft. Just because someone is drafted in the top 10 doesn't make them a superstar. They may have great potential, but plenty of star players are found in the mid to late first round all the way into the 3rd round (sometimes beyond that but less likely). So the #15, #46, and #51 picks aren't necessarily going to be any less of a superstar than the #4 pick..

You are right of course, but it is perception at least that you give yourself better odds of finding a superstar high in the draft, like say the Top 5, then you do lower in the draft.

A couple of weeks back I think I actually included a thread that documented which specific pick Pro Football Hall of Famers were drafted at (at least for first rounders.)

See this link that tells which round and position each HOFer has been taken:

    http://www.profootballhof.com/history/general/draft/round.aspx

(I do note that 14 #1 overall picks are in the HOF, probably more than any other slot)

or fill existing holes and bring depth to certain positions.

#4 pick is great if they aren't a bust. i know people will cry if this happens. everyone has their own player they are psychologically locked onto as being the messiah for the browns.

believe me, one player is not going to bring us to the playoffs next year. i think nfl GMs know more than any of us armchair wannabees. let them do their jobs. if they fuck this up, heads will roll.

  • Moving back to 15 is a BIG drop. I want the 3 picks PLUS their 2013 #1. Anything less & I say "no".

    It's a seller's market folks.

Tony Grossi was on the really big show on wknr this morning, and he said he heard that philly secretly is in love with tannehill, and might look to trade up to get him. He said if they made the trade with the browns the value of number 4 is almost equal to 15 and their two 2nd rounders. I took it as pure speculation on grossi part do to are relationship with philly in the past, I don't think any talks or negotiations have taken place, it was just his opinion. But wknr kept announcing it at every news break which made it seem like there was more to it.

    Tweaking it a bit:

#15 jonathon martin, OT... I want to make sure we address this position with the right guy, draft him here to make sure we get him

#22 stephen hill, WR.... I like him better than wright... plus he complements our third round pick

#37 janoris jenkins cb .... good pick and need

#46 doug martin or David wilson ... if not there maybe Lamar Miller (i'm not that familar with these three) or open to BPA

#51 lavonte david or zach brown LBS

3rd round Ryan Broyles WR... he is going to be a good player, great value at this spot, even if we have to PUP him for 6 weeks, taking Stephen Hill at #22, gives us a fast, tall WR, then we have Little, strong and big and then Broyles, similar to kendall wright, but I think Broyles will be as good if not better player than wright.

all this being said, I'm not sold on trading down to 15, seems to be to much of a drop, I don't mind dropping to 6 or 8 maybe 9

  • What does the pick value chart say???

  • #15 Kendell Wright WR

    #22 Jonathon Martin OT

    #37 Janoris Jenkins CB

#46 Either Lamar Miller or Doug Martin RBs

#51 Either Lavonte David or Zach Brown LBs GIP

    ********************************************************

    I'm thinkin:

    #15. Michael Floyd, WR

    #22 Cordy Glenn, OT

    #37 Lavonte David, OLB

#46 Doug Martin, or David Wilson

    #51 Chase Minnifield

Of course, it would probably be Mercilus, DE and Stephen Gilmore, CB

in the mix, instead. Oh yeah. Can't wait for the draft.😁

  • Here is my thoughts ......

Select Blackmon at #4, If Bucs dont select Richardson at #5 then Trade Blackmon to Rams for their #6 & #33 and we still get Richardson who I think H&H are really after, if Bucs take Richardson at #5 you can still keep Blackmon as he is still a Quality player and one of the top two offensive targets on our board, thing I would hate to see is trading the pick before the draft and Blackmon going at 4 then Richardson at 5 and we're left to go defense or to trade back down further for more less talented players. Its a tricky trade spot for us, as I think we could mess it up big time if we trade out of the #4.

In saying all that my preference would be to stay at #4 and pick Richardson straight off, as if you cant fill some of our holes with 13 picks there is something wrong.

  • IDK to tell you the truth. Remember though the Browns would still have ammo to jump back up from 15 if they wanted to grab Floyd. Get 2 2nd rounders and give up our 3rd or two 4th rounders to jump back to to around 10ish.

Whole scenario is similar to where I saw us trading with the Cowboys at #14 so they could pick Claiborne, easily the draft's best DB.

Yup... back up to 12 or so ought to do it. IMO after Floyd the dropoff gets steeper at WR. And I still like Floyd better than Blackmon.

What does the pick value chart say???

Dropping from 4 to 15 nets 750 points.

700 is the value of the #26 overall in the same draft. Don't know for sure how much is discounted for following year's draft, but 10% would be my guess. Then again where the Eagles would finish 2012 season is a bigger factor.

    The 2nd Round #15 is 430 points. 3rd round 195. 4th Round 72.

So per the chart a trade for this year's Eagles' 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th would not be out of the question.

The two 2nds Gip hypothesized total 820... not out of the question either...

Richardson at 4, PERIOD! IF he is gone at 3, THEN we trade down & I still say it's a "seller's market" (with Claiborne, Kalil, & Blackmon still available), so the hell with value charts & being fair.

As I've stated before, the Browns are in a fantastic position.

    Mike

  • If we do that trade id say go Courtney Upshaw with the Philly pick and Doug Martin with the other 1st. Get our Tackle and wrs in the 2nd round and our dbs in the 3rd.
