Run The Ball...stop The Run

Definitely made a statement
OFFENSE ... We're gonna run the football
Richardson,Schwartz,Miller
Defense ...We're gonna stop the run
Hughes,Johnson,Winn,Acho

We also got Brad Smelly as a FB/TE. He is a non stop motor.

Welcome to 1980's NFL philosophy. Too bad the league evolved beyond this years ago. The rest of the division stock up to pass the ball, protect the passer, stop the pass.

True but when the weather is bad which it is a lot in the afcn we'll be prepared. Plus weeden can throw much better than McCoy. We'll see.

The two LB we got are better vs the pass than people are givning them credit for. I think we got one of the steals of the draft in Acho. Smelley is also a good player, gives us a reason to finally get rid of Alex Smith. Real H back, can be the blocking TE and back up FB at the same time. High motor guy. Plus Winn projects as a situational pass rushing DT.

As much as I thought they did a terrible job addressing needs by PLAYER, they did a great job addressing TEAM needs as a whole (rushing and run defense).

Funny...didn't the almighty team from western pa just state this offseason that they wanted to become a run-first team? even getting a new OC?
the irony...
