  • Good choice for him. You don't want someone who isn't 110 percent behind there decision.

Well there it is folks, i cant blame him one bit.

  • I have a feeling that concussions are going to be the downfall of the NFL. I sure hope not.

  • Can't blame a guy for not wanting to end up with a mushy brain. I mean look what's happened to junior seau and a host of other guys who take shots like that. Slightly different situation, look what became of wwf wrestler Chris benoit. A little more dramatic but still concussion related. Is the NFL minimum contract, especially with limited chance for NFL glory worth the risk of a swiss cheese brain? Andrew Sweat doesn't think so and neither do I.

Oh, trust me....he can make a lot more just being signed at the minimum NFL contract than he can being an attorney.

What is the minimum rookie wage scale of an NFL player? $350,000? If he played for 5 years at the mimimum salary he would earn $1,750,000.

And here is news for you friend? Most lawyers don't make nearly as much as you think they do.

The average salary (or net earning for someone in sole practice) for an attorney in NE Ohio is about $50,000 per year...take my f***ing word for it...it is true. It might be quite a bit more in other parts of the country, but not here). So, in a 30 year career he couldn't make as much as in a 5 year NFL career at the miminum wage scale. And if he was any good at all he could make in one year the median of what lawyers make in a career.

Now, certainly there are some exceptions in what lawyers make.

And whoever said it was right: you can go back and get your law degree.

When I was at Cleveland-Marshall we had 2 Browns players attending law school: Gerald Irons and Dick Ambrose. I know Ambrose became a judge in Cuyahoga Co. (he may still be on the bench)

So, it can be done....maybe Sweat just didn't want to do it. So be it.

You say that like he's guaranteed 5 years at minimum salary. New rookies come in every year to fight for those spots.

No, I am just saying that if he played 5 years at minimum that is what he would make...

....and I am saying that it took me 10 years to accumulate that kind of money..gross.. that he could make in one year at minimum salary after putting up my shingle. Now, maybe he might have a guaranteed high paying position with hid Dad's firm when he graduates law school. Most of didn't/don't have that kind of advantage.

  • LOL, OTL is gonna do a spot on Andrew on tomorrow's show because he's afraid of concussions.
