Here is a trivia quiz for Mr. Pop Culture himself to delve into (and everyone else)...but this flows back and forth for a 90 year period, so be aware. A few items are even sports related:

    1. Who won the 1920 World Series?

    2. What were the shanty towns that sprouted up during the Great Depression of the 1930s called?

    3. During WWII, due to the War Department's restrictions on the amount of fabric that could be used in men's garments, what popular men's apparell item was discontinued?

    4. Name this person: In November 1951 he played for Stanford and scored two 4th Qtr. TDs to defeat USC and earn a Rose Bowl Berth. The next summer, 1952, in Helsinki he won the Decathlon Gold Medal by a large margin. He later became a US Congressman.

    5. What men's fashion became popular in the 1960s that was named after an Indian political figure?

    6. Ms. Louise Brown was born in the 1970s. Who is she and why is she important?

    7. Which Ivy League school became the last one to go co-ed in 1983?

    8. Interpret these slang terms that cropped up in various decades:

    3-Leggings?

    4- Rafer Johnson.

5-The Nehru suit. Btw, I never owned one of the ugly damn things!

    8 20s-cheap whiskey?

50s-greasy hair combed back on the sides to meet in the back like a duck's ass.

    60s-loud, rumbling mufflers

    "I'm going to court"...the bathroom?

NO, you are NOT supposed to "look up the answers". You are supposed to at least try to see what you can come up with on your own and give your best shot, by posting them.

Then, if you want, you can look them up (but keep them to yourself until someone else has come up with them or until I post the official answers)
