That's a nice long (and extremely out dated) article and all, but I have a question. Which Steelers (if any) does this link to steriods? You Browns fans jump to dumb conclusions that this could actually be something while nothing actually points that way.

BLAA BLAA BLAAA You guys are obsessed with Bull Sh*t that is NEVER real. Never arrests. Never Big ABC , CNN , News story's. All a bunch of Bull... Keep posting this rich information . We are all thankful that you are looking out for the country. And that you are finding all this stuff that's total BS , that apparently No one gives a Crap about.

So , instead of talking about YOUR team. You fabricate story's OR grab Pre-Fabricated story's about the Evil Empire of Pittsburgh. Who for some reason , doesn't have to play by ANY RULES ! And no matter what kind of damning evidence you "slooths" find the Steelers are Never punished for their "transgressions". Then , to top it off... you bitch and moan about us Steeler fans making comments about this Crap !!!! Do you know how STUPID you sound ???? NO , you don't , because that's just how STUPID you are !!

DON'T post it ...and we wont say Anything . Post it , and its Free game. And your vacant Cranium is the target we will be aiming at !!

You sound like a San Francisco Giant fan defending Barry Bonds. It is a proven fact that the Steelers in the 70's were on the roids and you expect people to think this isn't true. How xxxxing stupid are you?

What is wrong with doing something that wasn't illegal?

People dislike Bonds becuase he did something people with morales and respect for rules didn't do. This gained him an unfair advantage. If any player took roids in the 70's they didn't break any rules and it wasn't understood the devastating side affects. I guess the Browns cheat becuase they work out to get stronger. Yes, its legal and yes every team does it exstensively but my blind hatred toward the Browns will not allow me to follow logic....

Um.... actually by opposing team win %, the Steelers did not have the toughest schedule this season. It was only the toughest on paper before the start of the season.

Because the Steelers beat 12 of the teams on their schedule, thus forcing those other teams win% down.... Throw out the 16 games each team played from their opponents schedules and you get a better picture of SOS. The Steelers was right there at the top either way. Not their fault they have to play the Browns and Bengals twice a year.

i can confirm, since i also live in pittshole......

their is no priority for human life in this city.....these rats will sacrifice everyone on that team for a championship.....and from the looks of it, they already have.

when you place sports in the forefront of human life, i think you priorities are pretty xxxxed up.

but considering pittshole has absolutely nothing else to cling to besides the stools, they'll do anything to preserve it.

whats amusing is listening to everyone here bitch and whine because Toledo is now a bigger city according to the 2007 census. pittshole is already broke, and this means they will lose even more federal funds for infrastructure.....

i could go on and on.....the stools are the only thing yinzers have to be proud of......why you think they scream it at the top of their lungs?

People dislike Bonds because his use of PEDs helped him break individual records. Baseball is an individual stat driven game. Doing something that makes people question the validity of records, especially home run records, is the cardinal sin, because in the end baseball is more about individual performance than it is about winning. 61 homeruns in a season used to be a hallowed number, as did 755 career homeruns. Now 61 has been surpassed numerous times and 755 has been toppled. The people who did so were probably using PEDs, bringing their validity into question. That throws baseball fans into a tizzy. They no longer have hallowed homerun numbers, and they're not sure how to react. 73 and 762 will never be fully respected. Nevertheless, they still exist in the books, devaluing 61 and 755. That's the essence of the Bonds hatred. Bonds, along with McGwire and Sosa, stained baseball's religion.

Football is totally different. It's about teams winning and losing. Unlike baseball, which is essentially a series of one-on-one duals between a pitcher and a batter, Football is a pure team sport. Individual statistics are much more difficult to evaluate becuase each individual's statistics are intrinsically tied to the performance of his other teammates. Thus, there are no magic numbers in football other than number of Lombardis and 19-0. PED use is rampant in the league, but no one really cares. It doesn't diminish the game, because the widespread use essentially levels the playing field. The new stats produced eclipses some of the older stats, but that's not really that important.

The ridiculous thing about this ESPN article is that they take two year old news and re-release it during the AFCC, hoping that people will think that it's a new story. It insinuates that the Dr. supplied the Steelers with HGH, but neither states that flat out nor seeks to prove it. It's basically a trumped up piece of fluff designed to make ESPN the story. I think that it damages ESPN's credibility. They've released sensationalist stories late in the playoffs about teams still in the playoffs for two years in a row. The Walsh story was false, and the Steelers story is nothing but years old insinuations. ESPN is swiftly becoming E! SPN.

Were steroids completely legal in the 1970s in the NFL? They didn't even test for them until the late '80s. Don't you think other teams used them as well? And use among bodybuilders, including some who went on to careers in politics and film, is well known and documented.

With HGH, I don't believe that its NFL use is as widespread, because it does not do what steroids did. It may be good for anti-aging use. I think there will always be loopholes for its purchase and posession, because too many wealthy and prominent people use it to look young and buy a few inches of height for their kids.

A nationally known political figure from Ohio is rumored to be one of those on the HGH user list.

would kinda seem counter-productive to turn around an sell my house, quit my good job, and move since i just returned (home) 3 years ago.....i live in the town of my choice.....and i dont smoke jacks.

    first...no refuting anything i said.....nice job.

second...this kind of crap is why i hate this city.....intelligent conversation is rare with all the "yinz dis" and "go stillers".....

third....who's whining? im merely giving a first person POV of this city....it sucks, and i've traveled the US and abroad enough to make that distinction. you ever leave you sisters bedroom?

tell ya what....when you wanna talk like an adult, instead of the 15 year old i suspect you are, you can try to match my points. who says loser anymore?

There were several investigations that took place after this was first leaked and each and every one were proven inconclusive, all of this is old news. The doctor in question went on record to say that he never administered HGH to any Steeler during his tenure so take it for what it's worth. The entire situation is amusing because a choice few want to find something other than talent and drive as a reason for the franchises success when in reality it's about the organization and it's ability to do things right. I hope this helps a few of you sleep better at night but I can assure you no one in Pittsburgh is losing sleep.

yes, im not here for the city.....im here because im paid very well. you possess the skills to dictate your salary? can you be replaced?

plus, there's not many places in the US with lower real estate prices. i rented an apartment in NY for twice what my mortgage payment is....

I can only say this and remember something My uncle said long ago...."Where there is smoke you can bet theres a fire"...Yeah it sounds cliche but its so true...I dont care what your team doctor said...you dont buy large quantities of HGH and not intend to use and or distribute it....Looking upon the recent deaths (suddenly) of former Steeler players one has to really wonder........I mean there are guys like Gene Hickerson who played in the trenches and died last year who lived quite a long while after his playing days...So...If you want to continue this myopic vision of Your football Your welcome to do so...Just remeber Karma has a strange way of getting revenge...

His client base wasn't restricted to the Pittsburgh Steelers and as I said several completely separate investigations came up inconclusive. Studies conducted by individuals with zero bias and a desire for the facts and they could prove zero in regards to the Steelers and the use of HGH. It's nothing more than a excuse for the Cleveland fan base and anyone else that chooses to bring it up. The Browns haven't been worked for the last decade because of Pittsburgh brute strength and on field anger but rather a superior talent pool, with fantastic schemes, execution and top notch coaching. We draft well, we're coached well and our players believe in the organization, not to mention talent at crucial positions with all but a couple players not drafted by the Steelers. As I said previously, if it helps you sleep more soundly so be it.
