The real question is are any mods going to do anything about the absurd shit that has been happening on this board lately?

I don't give two shits about that, I only care about the fact that the dip shit decided to make his own topic because he stupidly gave out his phone number on a public forum and someone called him. Last I checked this was a NFL forum board. Those suicide discussions fell within the realm of this board because they did involve the NFL. Him being an idiot and giving out his phone number at no point and time involves the NFL, yet it has it's own damn topic.

First off, fuck Dane Cook. Second off, there is a certain amount of general respect and decency people should show in certain situations. I don't claim to be some high moral authority. There is certainly a way for Ghoolie to go about what he wanted to say in a manner that was respectful to the situation. He decided to be a cunt about it.

Don't forget the fact that what old people were taught back in the day is far from correct, both morally and intellectually. Should I take in and embrace the knowledge my grandfather bestowed upon me about general society when he referenced that African Americans (obviously not the word he used) only eat chicken gizzards, or should I just chalk that up to hate that was bestowed upon him from an improper upbringing? Me and most other sane people tend to lean towards the later of those two options.

you are the classic fucking fool. yes people (including i) were brought up by parents that can mold you for the rest of their lives. does it mean that that young person is going to fit in that mold for the rest of their lives? of course not. it's like the other thread about the KC suicide. you can be the greatest guy ever and all it takes is a split second decision to change your life forever.
this is what i am trying to tell you (not preach to you)...as an example... maybe if you were looking to get into the technical illustration biz, wouldn't it be helpful to hear or share some person's insight from what they had been through, dealing with publishing co's, agents and their bosses? wouldn't it be great to hobnob and mingle with people that are in the position to give you good advice about the path you are about to partake seeing as the other said person has already done it and been successful?

i was there printing photos in my basement in sandusky at 14 years old which turned to printing shirts when i was 16. wanted to go to cleveland IA but didn't have the money even though they had accepted me. joined the army. was a technical illustrator, was a army grunt. shot guns. been all over the world. from germany to boston to fort knox to mesa arizona to NYC. went into an ad agency to do prod art and because of a big hearted guy (whose father had been in the military) that could see through diplomas and #'s saw the value in a person that had done it all and could write a commercial in his sleep.....
