Julio Jones

The Browns Board

  • We also got Phil Taylor, Owen Marecic, Brandon Weeden and the fourth round pick we packaged in the Trent Richardson trade.

So instead of Julio, we got a starting DT, a starting #2 WR, a shitty fullback and one quarter of Trent Richardson.

It was the right move at the time. Four potential starters for one.

  • Julio also has Ryan throwing to him and White and Gonzalez to take pressure off of him.

He is great. Don't get me wrong. But he wouldn't be this effective with our personnel.

  • and once again........do i even have to say it?

    DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!!

  • Not according to richrapesbeagles.

    Good game though

  • Mister push off jones

    Good football teams win championships.

    Offense, defense, doesn't matter.

We'd be out-talented, out-coached, and out-performed on both sides of the ball by every team that played today. Let's focus on getting some more talent on our roster and running whatever schemes we decide to run effectively.

you are soooo correct. i was just thinking of that after watching the 2nd games first half but didn't know where to post it.

these teams are so far above and beyond us it's pathetic. you actually watch these games and see PROFESSIONAL football.

fuggin unbelievable how bad we have looked compared to PROFESSIONAL orgs that know what the fuck they are doing.

  • Yeah these posts never get old

"We could of had ___. I hate our GM/Coach/Owner!"....

    Ugh...

    Hindsight is 20/20

But I'm sure you were all saying whatever you are now then too

  • Whats even the point of bitching. The guys responsible for the trade is gone. Please keep going, I love to listen to people bitch about the effectiveness of people who have already been fired.

  • I think this board has the funniest people on the planet...

    1. at least 75% of theards has someone saying " What are you 12" ( Or 10 in this case)

    2. At least 60% of threads has people bashing the shit out of our QB whoever it might be at the time

    3. Everybody hates Goolie, but agree with what he says... Yeah that makes sense

    4. At least 50% of threads someone is bashing our draft picks

    5. At least 60% of the threads someone is saying that guy should have been a Brown ( AP, Jone, Rodgers, Brady, Farve, LT, Bruce Willis, Jerry Rice, Ray Lewis)

    6. Everyone on this board hates Uniform threads, but they end up with the most hits and last just as long as the Cheerleader thread

    7. All younger fans want the Elf, older Browns fans want a plain orange Helmet

Only at The Browns Board can we see this on a daily basis!!!!

  • Wow. And look at mattie ice, doing everything weeden doesn't do. Looks a receiver down knowing he is going to throw elsewhere.

You do realize Matt Ryan is in his 5th year right? Meaning he's experienced AND he actually has established route runners combined with good pass protection to sure up his confidence.

Now I agree!!!!! NO way is as good as the cheerleader thread!!!!!

  • Uniform thread vs Cheerleader thread is not even close on what is better, its like comparing Megatron and Jones they are not even in the same chapter let a lone the same book!!!!!

That's pure speculation. At the same time I could say that in our offense he'd make our QB and receivers look better, and have even more opportunities and pad his stats more than in Atl. So in Atl he had an 80/1200/10 , if he were in Cleveland he'd have a 100/1500/15 year.

Andy Dalton is not great but, do you think he'd be as good as he is without A.J Green to throw to? A.J Green makes Dalton, and in turn everyone else better.

Everyone knows we got hosed by Minnesota so taking those picks into account just adds to my case against Heckert, the Jones trade was in no way beneficial towards landing Richardson.

People also fail to mention we traded back up to get Phil Taylor, which cost us a 3rd round pick in 2011.

  • Jones is only going to get better in year #3. At times he is uncoverable. He is about as close to Calvin Johnson as there is.

Yea, and that is why I said we needed to draft him if A. J. Green was gone,,,,,,,,,,got pissed on so we drafted Phil Traylor park and here we are and here they are

but times are a changing Haslem is changing this org from dumbass fans and dumbass management to winning which starts with guys on offense who TOUCH the ball

Scoring....keeping the other team from scoring. These all win games.

Look at the Falcons. Lots of offensive potential....yet they lost because their defense played like old ladies at times, and then SF's defense learned to corral their offense.

    Same with New England.

I want it all. I need it all. The Browns need it all.

If your defense is going to give up 38 pts. a game, like the Browns D did over the last couple of games, your team ain't winning dick.

I agree that the Browns were ALSO impotent offensively.

Hopefully we have some weapons at hand...and the coaching to go with it to make it explosive.

And I welcome more firepower on this team.

But I also recognize that we need both.

Just because I may have an ICBM doesn't mean I don't need an ABM.
