The Browns Board
13 11 732
  • The NFL competition committee passed this 8-0. It was unanimous. So next it will go in front of the owners for a vote. If 24 out of the 32 owners agree this passes. What would you guys think if this rule passes? Would it impact how much NFL action you watch per week?

Just think no more TRich running people over!!!

They should just remove all the protective gear and make it flag football. More this generations PC bullshit.

If they're going to protect defenseless receivers they might as well protect undersized defensive backs in the open field. I don't know how often a DB is injured by said move BUT i do believe that the bigger, more physical backs are still going to run people over. If not they better start taking a page of of AP's book and make guys miss. EDIT: The head drop battering ram move doesn't happen all that often anyway.

This would eliminate ANY helmet hits outside the tacklebox. By defense or offense. That also means no defensive backs lowering the boom with a helmet to the chest of a receiver either.

  • Dumb. Seen more rb's get injured from cb's taking out a rb at his knees. If they dont want to get trucked get out of the way. Its football.

But they will Give godell another raise for his dumb fucking rules.

  • When are they going to start fining the quarterbacks who leave their receivers hanging out to dry.

  • I think it's gay.

If you learn how to tackle property you won't be worried about where his head is anyway.

Another call forvrefavtovfuck up and piss off fans on a clean play.

God forbid you get a concussion in the NFL, they are so scared of lawsuits, but you can still rip a guys leg out of its socket or smash his knee giving him a lifetime of pain.

Players know the price when they sign and NFL contract, let them be warriors and quit gaying up the game.

    Z

  • If things continue to go this way, I won't be watching the NFL within a few years, and I won't be the only one. How hard it is to have players sign waivers if they want to play in the NFL. It's a violent sport, if you're afraid to get concussed, don't play

  • Why not let the refs have a scale on the field? Whoever weighs more gets a penalty

  • I wonder what the penalty would even be and how it would be enforced. Granted I think it is a terrible rule. It will not only reduce cool hits, it will also slow down the game with penalties and have us all screaming about bad calls. HE LED WITH HIS DAMN SHOULDER! CMON REFS!

Could you imagine if you it was another personal foul call with an automatic first down? Ridiculous!

Maybe they should get rid of the helmets and make them run around with ladies panties on their heads instead. It would be symbolic.

    Which generation?

Just make the NFL like Nascar. The OL can only weigh THIS much, etc....Have weigh-ins before every game, and the team has to forfeit if it can't put enough players on the field. Pretty soon it's basically gonna just be Lingerie Football like what has been made popular in south florida.

  • What's the ideal outcome in this situation - the RB slides at the defender's feet, and then kicks at the oncoming linebacker's groin like Brady?
