No doubt it's looking worse and worse for Truck Stop Jimmie. The company will probably survive- unlike Enron. If the Feds can prove Haslam gave his OK to this mess, he's heading to jail- and the Browns are heading to new ownership.

The number of suits really doesn't matter. Most likely they will be rolled in to one.

As for Jimmy...if they had something at this point, I believe we would know it by know. That doersn't mean something won't surface that implicates him, but the longer it goes, my feeling is the less chance of finding any concrete proof because it doesn't exist.

Even if something bad happens, it doesn't spell new ownership.....or maybe I should say doesn't "have" to mean that.

Then again, maybe they already have what they want. Knowing this justice department and as politically charged as they are, they might be waiting so they can march in opening day and escort Haslam from the stadium in full view.

I could see them pulling off a rinky dink move like that.

i hope haslam can ride the storm out.

    BUT...

if not would other fans be opposed to a investment type group of owners including dan gilbert?

i mean at least the guys trying and the kids specs are cool as all hell.

Well peen, a grand jury is looking over the evidence to determine if jimmeh will be indicted. I believe the DOJ has a 90%+ conviction rate if indicted, so its not gonna be to promising if jimmeh gets tagged.

A multibillion dollar company like P-FJ probably has dozens of suits pending against them at any one time. So that tain't no big ting. As for the "coupon" ripoff cases, as Peen said, they could all be rolled into a single action.

As for the DOJ, they are working on their own time table, not yours, mine or ours, or the NFLs.

Never said otherwise. What's the timetable matter gip?

Simply pointing out that as time goes on, the outlook for jimmeh becomes evermore bleak.

Well as a fan I hope he doesn't get charged, can get over this bullshit and get on with owning and improving the team.

Or, you could say, that as time goes on....and nothing is happening, it looks better and better for him. To my knowledge the DOJ doesn't call press conferences just to say they are NOT bringing charges. If they do decide that it will be done quietly. And any pronouncement to that effect could more likely come from JH's attorney...who may be informed, not the DOJ.

    Quietly?

    Perhaps I'm misunderstanding you....

But things are happening. Like right now....civil lawsuits, as well as a criminal investigation headed by a grand jury....whom are deciding if criminal proceeding are going to be filed against jimmeh.

Its not slowing down, its speeding up. Don't believe me....just Google grand jury + haslam. Tens of articles within the last 24 hours on the proceedings that are going on right now.

Once that's done....jimmeh gets indicted. They didn't call a press conference to say jimmeh is an innocent bystander. They convened a grand jury to try and throw his ass in jail.

If he knew....damn right I do. His relationship to my preferred sports franchise matters none if he willing committed fraud.

White collar crime is still crime, despite what your GOP friends contend.

hey, i think we all expected to see JH take us to the next level with marketing and exposure unlikr what we get now from major sportschannels and their broadcasters.

didn;t think the first interview with pluto this season would be about the extreme markup (that disappeared in some slouchy shady j@@s pockets) while he was sincerely pushing slim jims, mountain dew and skoal.
