Major Training Camp Injuries Around The League

fuck baltiwhore!..I hope them, the bungles and stools get key injuries like we had all these years, and let them feel what its like, them whiney, gloating bastards!

I'm going to change this thread to "Camp Injuries" so we can keep up around the league.
Broncos, preseason darlings of the AFC West, have nothing at Center.
Zombo:
The Denver Broncos continue to deal with serious injury issues at center.
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday, per a source informed of the injury, that Dan Koppen isdone for the season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Koppen was carted off the field after hearing a pop in the knee during training-camp practice.
The Broncos later confirmed the injury to Koppen, who now heads toward surgery that will end his season -- and perhaps his career.
Koppen, 33, signed with the Broncos last month afterJ.D. Walton was lost for the season after suffering a setback in his recovery from a dislocated ankle. Koppen filled in admirably for Walton last season, starting 12 games.
The Broncos currently are down to Manny Ramirez -- a guard by trade -- and Steve Vallos snapping the ball to Peyton Manning. The Broncos announced Sunday they had agreed to terms with Vallos, a five-year veteran, pending a physical.

So Flacco has lost Pitta and Boldin, two of his top receivers, and Ellerbe, Kruger, Lewis, Reed, and some others are gone on defense. I simply don't see how a team can survive this. Now the purge is starting to look like 2001 all over again.
Then again, they were way better than anybody expected back then (!).
I think by mid-season, the notion that it's Browns and Bengals fighting for the AFCN won't sound odd at all.

cant make up my mind about Baltimore, that's an awful lot of talent to lose. Pittsburg will not be near as bad as most people here seem to think. Did they need a replacement center, or center fielder. Manny Ramirez, eh? Better get an immediate urine test for that guy.

Wow...
Sure, injuries to our division rivals should help our chances, but seriously "rooting on" injuries is just classless...

My opinion is: injuries ARE going to happen. Better to happen to our opponents guys than to ours. In case you don't recall, for like 8 of the last 14 years the Browns were #1 in the NFL with players on the IR. So, we, and not our opponents, are entitled to a little luck in this area.

Gotta agree and hope for once our fate at seasons end is an enjoyable one...If it comes down to cleveland and cincy in the playoffs I expect it to be a defensive struggle...I pretty much see our meetings in the division games that way...Weeden of course is the X factor.

Agreed that it would be nice to see the injury bug stay away from our camp, but cheering for opponents to be inuried is crossing a line. Sure, we get excited when one of our rival's top pass-catchers goes down or when Big Ben hobbles off the field, BUT have a little respect for these guys who risk their bodies and even their lives to entertain us...

And from the NFC ... goodbye Percy Harvin.

Percy Harvin is headed for surgery to fix his ailing hip.
The Seattle Seahawks receiver announced the decision Tuesday night via his verified Twitter account, hours after getting a second opinion on the small tear in his labrum.
Harvin, 25, was cleared to practice by Seahawks doctors last week but told them he wasn't comfortable and wanted a second opinion. He got it on Tuesday from a noted, hip specialist Dr. Bryan Kelly, at the Hospital for Special Surgery.
The question now is how much time Harvin will miss. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll told USA TODAY Sports last week that, if Harvin had surgery, "he's not going to play for the season." But Carroll softened those remarks in subsequent remarks to Seattle reporters.
Either way, Harvin is expected to miss extended time. Normal recovery from surgery from a torn labrum is 12 to 16 week

I guess I'm just not the one to pretend, Who is the Browns!!!, when it comes to injuries. Sure, some teams seam to get hit harder than others, but the past two seasons plenty of important starters for teams across the AFC North saw long term injuries hit, and honestly the Browns didn't see the worst of it.

Last year, no. The previous 12 years they got hit as hard as any team in the league.

2008 was the last bad year for injuries in my mind. After that it has just been fielding shit teams and new coaches. Sure, we would see one or two end up on the PUP or IR, but no more so than any other team in the AFC North. Hell last year we all listened to the doom and gloom when Richardson had his knee surgery and Taylor tore his peck, but in the end that only team that was less affected by injury than us was the Bengals. Taylor was back and starting for half the season and Richardson soldiered through.

the jets fans were holding their breath today when they heard cromartie getting carried off the field.
high ankle sprain.

49ers are fucked.
a starting CB out now for the season.
gotta give seattle the edge now in that divisiion.

Well, this is what happens when you rely on a 35 year old for one of your WR slots:
Steelers' WR Plaxico Burress suffers torn rotator cuff, career could be in limboPUBLISHED 9 hours and 32 minutes ago LAST UPDATED 9 hours and 21 minutes agoStaff report Sporting NewsPlaxico Burress was carted off the field Thursday during the Pittsburgh Steelers practice. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, he suffered a torn rotator cuff and his season is likely over.
Maybe even more significantly, though, his career could be over with the injury.

Burress fell awkwardly on his right shoulder while attempting to catch a ball in practice and had to be carted off the field.
He signed a one-year contract in the offseason with the Steelers after playing for Pittsburgh last season, but only appearing in four games.
The 35-year old was listed as the No. 2 receiver on the team. Now, his playing days might be over.

Maybe The Vag or other Steeler fans can advise us how big a blow this may be.
(Personally, I don't think it is a big deal. They have Sanders and Brown. the loss of either of them would have been a far bigger blow. Plus the veteran Cotchery. Plus now they can develop their rookies Wheaton and Justin Brown better, either of whom could probably be as productive as Burress.)
