Well, this is what happens when you rely on a 35 year old for one of your WR slots:

Steelers' WR Plaxico Burress suffers torn rotator cuff, career could be in limbo
PUBLISHED 9 hours and 32 minutes ago LAST UPDATED 9 hours and 21 minutes ago
    Staff report Sporting News

Plaxico Burress was carted off the field Thursday during the Pittsburgh Steelers practice. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, he suffered a torn rotator cuff and his season is likely over.

Maybe even more significantly, though, his career could be over with the injury.

MORE: NFL Preseason games get underway | Preseason scoreboard

Burress fell awkwardly on his right shoulder while attempting to catch a ball in practice and had to be carted off the field.

He signed a one-year contract in the offseason with the Steelers after playing for Pittsburgh last season, but only appearing in four games.

The 35-year old was listed as the No. 2 receiver on the team. Now, his playing days might be over.

Maybe The Vag or other Steeler fans can advise us how big a blow this may be.

(Personally, I don't think it is a big deal. They have Sanders and Brown. the loss of either of them would have been a far bigger blow. Plus the veteran Cotchery. Plus now they can develop their rookies Wheaton and Justin Brown better, either of whom could probably be as productive as Burress.)

OK, it was an August Fool's day joke about Brady being out for the year........or was it? And it was an April Fool's day joke when the Pats picked up Tebow.

    It's actually Tebow's birthday today.

Which I thought was December 25.

Wheaton before the Buress injury was already in the mix for a lot of reps. He's been one of the highlights from camp. Shark Thomas is also making a lot of noise and Bell is 1 on the depth chart. Jarvis Jones was also taking first team reps at outside linebacker with Worilds still pushing. Losing Buress is a non-issue.

    As I thought.

I just hope that in the future we Browns fans won't have to act like this:

Actually, I hope a variation on a theme will be in order.....instead of Browns fans doing the Khan scream at Wheaton, it will be Steeler fans doing the Khan scream at Weeden.

Steelers/Redskins tonight, right? In keeping in tune with the title of this thread, how often do you wish to see the meat wagon deployed along the Steelers sideline?

What I want to know is this turn into the RGIII show? Did Suzie Culver kiss his knee or his ass during the game? ESPN has been pimping the guy so much, I want to puke.

RG3 is a great talent BUT he can't keep his mouth shut (nor his father) and is quickly becoming a diva and ESPN will latch on to anything when someone like him speaks to the media. wait until (if it already hasn't) the johnny 'football' manziel show.

    talk about sickening.

ESPN flat out sucks; essentially is a DC and New England regional network. I am really impressed with FS1 and their gameday line up for both NCAA and NFL looks to be much more palatable than what those idiots in CT have to offer

i live in NY and i hate the fact that (even when they do good....and it's been a long time) there is no mention of the browns, although ryan russillio and danny kannell (filled in for mike and mike in the morning on friday past) called brandon weeden the MVP so far of the preseason and they actually showed more highlights of the game against detroit last thursday than i've seen in years.

ESPN is not DC and NE. ESPN is a bandwagon sports network. they have broadcast TV in LA as well and sports radio in every major city (probably one in cleveland). they only report on teams that win or hold a major marketplace (NY, DC, LA, Dallas, Miami etc.). they might show a clip of the indians game or a highlight of a player making a great catch but that's about it. what do you think the people in KC or San Diego think of ESPN? same as most of us browns fans i would think.

when lebitch played for the cavs and they were winning tell me they didn't report on him every night.

you gotta win to get in.
