Late Roster Moves Thread

He's not gonna start, he could provide veteran leadership, be a reliable guy on 3rd downs, provide some depth atleast untill Gordons back. Definitely worth a look.

[Tim Couch Pulls Out]

Shayne Graham cut, Jamorris Slaughter cut, Gordon placed on reserve/suspended list.

[Shep]

Kellen Davis cut. Watkins makes some sense. Meachem is said to be broken down.

Several calls for interior DL and Jason Campbell (I'm guessing Bills and/or Jets).

Browns said to be looking for a WR with "serious upside," not a warm body, so that might be a trade. Back will be change of pace type, which puts Rainey in the mix. He returns kicks, too.

Browns could be active on waiver wire because they have the cash (contract stands if they get claimed on waivers). Would give us the edge with a guy like Watkins.

2011 first round pick (guard) Danny Watkins cut by Eagles. Said they never saw the aggressiveness from his Baylor days... but maybe he needs a change of scenery?

Maybe blocking his old buddy Phil Taylor would bring him back to his glory days...

[Shep]

Hearing some Tandon Doss (Ravens cut, former 4th round pick, turns 24 in September). He's said to be very popular and won't make it through waivers.

Tavarres King (Broncos) was a 5th round pick a couple years ago and is also unlikely to make it through waivers. He was a surprise cut.

I could see one of those two and Rainey. Might have to trade for the corner.

Browns just picked up RB Bobby Rainey:

Edit:

Browns also pick up Dennis Johnson (RB?)

Just picked up C/G Patrick Lewis from Packers :

Someone posted some highlights here :

Browns pick up WR Jasper Collins for our Practice Squad.

[JAFBF]

According to MKC, the Browns have claimed 6 players off of Waivers, but haven't announced them all yet :

Looking for K & CB I hope.

Latest word is we just released LB Fort and picked up LB Brandon Magee from Dallas . . .

Don't know if this is real or not:

MarQueis Gray ‏@MarQueisG 1h

Well it's been fun SF and thanks for all the love & support! Just got the word and now Off to Cleveland to start over!! Here we go #Browns

Okay, this one seems to be confirmed.

[Shep]

Magee is more of Horton's kind of linebacker (225, quick) than Fort, so good trade out. Rainey was a fantastic add. Don't know much about the other guy. If we signed 6 guys on waivers, we have a couple more to find out about. Oh, yeah, the Green Bay G/C... knew we'd be getting one of those.

Good job, Browns. Little things matter. In each case so far, these teams really wanted to put these guys on their practice squads.

[Shep]

Gray was a QB and WR at Minnesota, goes 243 now and I seen as a TE/FB. Might be headed for the practice squad.

[JAFBF]

Practice Squad so far sounds like:

WR Jasper Collins

S Jamoris Slaughter (so we didn't lose him after all)

CB Terence Frederick

Browns have certainly been active today, still need a K, and we have 13 OL

[JAFBF]

Just picked up TE Keavon Milton from Saints according to MKC.

WTF?

a TE @ 6' 4" & 293lbs

http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/8769/keavon-milton

[wvumountaineer]

y not go ahead and pick up dwyer he would be a good back-up

[choco]

Because we picked up 2 guys from teams utilizing feature backs who were cuts because of the numbers game, rather than a jag from a team with no running game.

[The Italian DawgPound]

I've been looking for the latest Browns depth chart eveywhere but I can't seem to find anything.

Anybody can update me on OL and RBs?

Thanks.

[NaplesBrowns420]

I want to see us go with Kicker by committee. We'll get to see if Weeden, Little, Mingo, or any others that want to try it, can kick a football. Shit, it is only three points, and I was tired of seeing our team settle on field goals anyways.
