  • If the playoffs started today, these teams would be in:

    AFC

    E: Patriots 4-0

N: Ravens 2-2 (better division record than Browns/Bengals who are also 2-2)

S: Colts 3-1 (better division record than Titans)

W: Broncos 4-0 (better division record than Chiefs)

Wildcards: Chiefs 4-0, Dolphins 3-1 (better conf. record than 3-1 Titans)

    NFC:

    E: Cowboys 2-2

N: Lions 3-1 (head to head win over 3-1 Bears)

    S: Saints 4-0

    W: Seahawks 4-0

Wildcards: Bears 3-1, 49ers 2-2 (better div. record than 2-2 Cardinals)

Yes, it is only the quarter pole, but some trends are obvious, primarily that the Seahawks and Broncos seem poised to be the top teams in each conference. That the Saints are back and maybe better than ever. The NFC East is a sinkhole of a division. The AFCN really is up for grabs.

That the Steelers, Giants, Bucs, and Jags have had the life drawn out of them by a succubus.

The Pats are 4-0...but seem shaky. That the Chiefs seem for real as well.

  • Another trend is that it seems that certain teams that everyone counted out should say to the rest of the league: Not so Fast my Friends.....we are here and not going away. These include The Browns, Cardinals, Lions, Titans, Chargers, Bills, and maybe even the Jets.
