The Browns Board

  • I was late getting to this. Hopefully we can get some replies:

    1. What is the Browns/Chiefs head to head regular season record? (note, the team have never met in postseason play)

    2. The Chiefs have now lost 6 consecutive postseason games. Who was the last team they beat in postseason, and when?

    3. What former Browns RB led the Chiefs in rushing for one year?

    4. What player (found out later possibly to be a major drug dealer...or perhaps a case of mistaken identity) led the Chiefs in receiving in 1976 and 1977?

    5. What WR that also played for the Browns led the Chiefs in receiving in 1997?

    6. Which NFL team that did move in the late 50s/early 60s did Lamar Hunt originally attempt to have move to his home town of Dallas?

    7. When Hunt formed the Dallas Texans, nka the KC Chiefs, he originally offered the head coach job to two other people before "settling" on Hank Stram. Name those 2 people. You should know their names

    8. The Chiefs are named after the former Mayor of KC, who went by "Chief" (and was, I believe native-American). However, another name for the team was selected by a fan vote but rejected. What was that name?

    9. The Chiefs had a 20 year home sellout streak broken in 2009. Who was their opponent when that streak was broken?

    10. Three former Chiefs Head Coaches had some affiliation with the Browns. Name these 3 people.

    11. What two tragedies struck the KC Chiefs in 1983?

    12. There was talk recently of having Brett Favre, at 44 come back and play for the Rams. The Chiefs DID have a 44 year old QB make at least one start for them. Who was that QB?

  • All that is left after Z smoked this round:

    1. Head to head regular season record Browns/Chiefs?

    7. Besides Tom Landry, the other person to whom Lamar Hunt offered the Chiefs HC job before giving it to Hank Stram?

    8. The alternative names the Chiefs could have been called from a fan selection vote?

    11. The other "tragedy" that occurred to the Chiefs in 1983. Hint: this was not a true tragedy like the Delaney situation (or, perhaps Tyrer). This is more of a team fuckup type of tragedy.

Merged in '70... Never in same division... conference match ups rotate... three conferences until 2002, then four ...

32 years of once every three years (minus one game for our "absense") then 12 years of once every four... say 13 games...

    Lotta down years for us...

Wow, I never knew that about him. He was from Ohio St. He was an outstanding player. He was like a 9 time Pro Bowl player, 4-5 time All Pro. His credentials were Hall of Fame caliber. But I see now why the HOF has elected not to put him in.
