  • I noticed this too, but there was a game or two ago where he stunk.

  • I noticed he seems to do well, and have been wondering why he doesn't get more carries. Stats lines show he has most YPC, longest run, and only run over 20 yards. Seriously, every other carry gets us a first down. He deserves a longer look than what he's getting.

NAME ATT YDS AVG LONG 20+ TD YDS/G FUM FUML 1DN

    Willis McGahee 79 231 2.9 16 0 1 38.5 0 0 15

    Chris Ogbonnaya 19 101 5.3 22 1 0 12.6 0 0 9

  • I like ogbonnaya I think its good hes still on the roster. He can catch. And run.

  • One service I have seen says that Carlos Hyde should be a 5th or 6th round draft pick........How about we get him in say the third round...and maybe that will help the running game.

  • I feel like Willis is a waste.

Won't be around next year, has no speed, can't turn the corner.

Ogby and Fozzie need the bulk of the work load from here on out.

His good point is he can run it up the middle and seems to hang on to the ball well.

Let Willis spell and run up the gut for 3 or 4 and go from there. He shouldn't be in the passing game at all.

I still can't figure out why they try to bounce Willis to the outside when they had/have much faster backs to put in.

McGahee won't always get the 3 or 4 yards that we need considering he has a whopping 2.9 YPC on the season... Unless we like getting into 4th and 1 situations consistently.

  • dion lewis and carlos hyde in our backfield next year

Wouldn't be the least upset by it.

  • Jekyll and Hyde.

    Eh. Needs some work.

  • Ogby is a very serviceable back IMO. But his YPC has been padded by a few 3rd and long draw plays in the teens, i.e., not quite enough.

McGahee still runs well enough. O-line and he got stuffed by KC in 1st half, but had a couple nice gains thru the left side in the 2nd half. And he does help supply that veteran experience on a very young offense.

There's plenty of room for both on our 2013 squad. Down the road... prolly not..

Hyde is the biggest prospect in this class, so if you want a bruiser, he's your guy. But even TRich could post numbers behind that Buckeye line... 🙂

Stanford's Tyler Gaffney impressed me in their demolition of UCLA. He's only slightly smaller than Hyde and looks quicker. Still projected to be a UFA, but is rising after a second huge game vs. Oregon St.

At 200 lbs Clemson's Roderick McDowell is a good bit smaller, but 4.47 fast. Downside is one concussion already this year.
