Second interim report:
1. Who are the two Packers, besides Herb Adderly that got a 6th championship ring along the line somewhere for another team?
Hmmm ... Marv Fleming could be one. Henry Jordan?
3. What team has lost the most postseason games? (It is not the Bears/Giants/Redskins/Cowboys...and another hint: it is not the Browns)
That's a good question. You can only lose one playoff game per year, so it is a team that makes the playoffs all the time, and then back out any super bowl championships.
I'll go with Dolphins. They used to make the playoffs a lot but only went all the way twice.
9. Two more RBs that scored 100 TDs rushing.
besides E.Smith/Tomlinson/Allen/Payton/JB/Riggins)
I haven't scrolled back to see the misses ... but I'll try Barry Sanders and Thurmon Thomas.
10. Besides Jeff Garcia and Kerry Collins, the 2 other QBs who started playoff games for 3 teams.
Not sure ... I'll throw out McMahaon and Testeverde, I know they started for at least two.
Bonus: the only QB to be the starting QB for 2 different championship teams. (Hint: 1 was an NFL team, one was an AFL team)
It was bugging me so I figured it out using Google. Thought it was a trick question at first (Lenny dawson with Dallas Texans and KC Chiefs) ... but now I know who it is.

Nope, neither of them.

Barry Sanders has been mentioned a couple of times. (he had only 99). Thomas is a good guess. Wrong, but a damn good guess.

No, not them.

Yea, he is not as well known as he should be given his status as the only guy in history to accomplish that feat. Even I thought there were other guys that started for those two teams.

Marshall faulk had 100+ TDs, occurred to me during the game last night while having a convo about him .

Warren Moon for three different playoff teams?
Tony Dorsett and Curtis Martin for the 100 TDs?

No on all counts.
Martin had 90, Dorsett 77.
Moon played for 4 teams but only started for 2 in the playoffs (Houston/Minn)

Kurt Warner is a guess, same with Dave Krieg

Could be Shaun...
Seattle may be the NFL version of Haley's comet. Currently on their third cycle of getting really good.
I peeked at the Packers' 1961 roster. There were a couple very interesting rookie names there aside from Adderley.
One I could/ should have remembered...
One I would never have pegged in a million years...

Krieg's a good guess... after a long tenure in Seattle he bounced around quite a bit.
How 'bout the much traveled Brad Johnson? He started for at least 3 teams. One of them, Minnesota, during two different stints.
-
Ya could be Brad Johnson if he happened to win a playoff game when he was in Washington. I don't think he did though.
I'm thinking Shaun Alexander us the mystery rb.

I am foregoing the usual "Browns opponent's' trivia, as our next opponent is the Ravens. They have too short a history and no one wants to know anything about their sorry asses. So I am giving some more general stuff here. See how you do:
1. Excluding members of the AAFC Cleveland Browns who may have moved into the NFL, in NFL history, only 3 players have ever been a member of 6 Championship teams. Can you name these 3 players? (hint: besides those Browns, can you think of any other team that won a lot of titles?)
2. Which 2 players that played for the Browns made either the First or Second All Decade Team of the 2000s as put out by the Pro Football Hall of Fame?
3. What team has lost the most postseason games in history?
4. There have been 43 QBs to start a game thus far in the 2013 season. Name all of those who are undefeated in their starts.
5. Besides the Browns, what other NFL team has started 3 QBs this year?
6. There are or have been 67 Quarterbacks on the 53 man roster of NFL teams this year that are credited at some point in their careers as having started an NFL game. Five of them have a career winning pct. of .700 or better. Simply name those 5 QBs.
7. Thirty three (33) QBs in history have thrown for 200 career TD passes (including 6 active). There are 4 more likely to join that club before the 2013 season is complete. (a couple could do it as early as this week). Name those 4 QBs likely to join the 200 TD club.
8. Between the AAFC and the NFL Otto Graham won 104 games as a starting QB, in regular season games. Twelve (12) other QBs have won 100 or more games as a starting QB. Simply name all 12!
(hint: all have been post 1950 QBs)
9. Eight (8) Running backs have scored 100 or more TDs rushing. Simply name all 8!
10. Only 4 QBs in NFL history have started a postseason game for 3 different teams. Name these 4 QBs. (hint: all post 1970)
Bonus: There IS in fact ONE QB who was the starting QB for two different teams/franchises that won a championship game. Name this QB.
(hint: it was not Len Dawson who won titles with the Dallas Texans/Kansas City Chiefs. Those in fact are the same franchise)

Excellent job on this boys. Only a couple of answers not gotten, so here are the Final Answers:
1. Excluding members of the AAFC Cleveland Browns who may have moved into the NFL, in NFL history, only 3 players have ever been a member of 6 Championship teams. Can you name these 3 players? (hint: besides those Browns, can you think of any other team that won a lot of titles?)
Herb Adderly got his 5 with the Packers, plus another with the 1971 Cowboys
And, by the way, Forrest Gregg did the exact same thing. He too was a member or the 5 Packer title teams, plus the 1971 Cowboys
Fuzzy Thurston on the other hand was a member of the 1958 Baltimore Colts who won the title, plus he was a member of all 5 Packer Champions.
2. Which 2 players that played for the Browns made either the First or Second All Decade Team of the 2000s as put out by the Pro Football Hall of Fame?
Jamal Lewis, 2d team RB (though mostly for his Baltimore work)
Josh Cribbs 1s team KR
3. What team has lost the most postseason games in history?
The Minnesota Vikings have lost 27 postseason games, most of any team.
4. There have been 43 QBs to start a game thus far in the 2013 season. Name all of those who are undefeated in their starts.
Alex Smith 8-0, Brian Hoyer 3-0
(ok, but lets acknowledge that though Hoyer started the game in which he got hurt, the Browns were trailing 7-0 at that time, and that it was Brandon Weeden who led the team in that victory)
5. Besides the Browns, what other NFL team has started 3 QBs this year?
Vikings: Ponder, Cassell, Freeman
6. There are or have been 67 Quarterbacks on the 53 man roster of NFL teams this year that are credited at some point in their careers as having started an NFL game. Five of them have a career winning pct. of .700 or better. Simply name those 5 QBs.
Tom Brady 142-41 .776
Russell Wilson 17-6 .739
Colin Kaepernick 11-4 .714
Brian Hoyer 3-1 .750
Kirk Cousins 1-0 1.000
(note: P. Manning win pct.= .694 and Andrew Luck = .696)
7. Thirty three (33) QBs in history have thrown for 200 career TD passes (including 6 active). There are 4 more likely to join that club before the 2013 season is complete. (a couple could do it as early as this week). Name those 4 QBs likely to join the 200 TD club.
Ben Pedaphile sits at 199

(FYI, the 6 active already over 200: P. Manning 465, Brady 343, Brees 343, E. Manning 221, Rivers 204, M. Hasselback 201)
8. Between the AAFC and the NFL Otto Graham won 104 games as a starting QB, in regular season games. Twelve (12) other QBs have won 100 or more games as a starting QB. Simply name all 12!

(hint: it was not Len Dawson who won titles with the Dallas Texans/Kansas City Chiefs. Those in fact are the same franchise)
Tobin Rote was the starting QB in the 1957 NFL Championship game for the Detroit Lions in which they beat the Browns.
Tobin Rote was the starting QB in the 1963 AFL Championship game for the San Diego Chargers in which they beat the Boston Patriots.
I had always been under the assumption that Bobby Layne was the Lions QB for all 3 of their 50s title wins. Wrong.
I also was under the assumption that John Hadl was the Chargers QB in their 1963 title win. Wrong. It was Rote in both.

Figure this out: all the bold QBs are already in the HOF...and is there any doubt that Peyton, Brady and Brees will be?
Yet look at who sits below them......those 3 names are guys that most say will NOT likely become HOFers, yet they only sit a few wins behind some guys already in there.
Do those few wins make that big of a difference?
(do you think the HOF voters take into account that Kelly and Moon lost NFL years to the USFL and CFL?)
Edit: OK, oops, Favre is not yet in. He will be, obviously.
