Sepsis just took my father last night and before yesterday I'd never heard of it. After researching, it's incredible how dangerous and common this infection is.

This is well worth a quick read to educate yourselves. When the Cleveland Clinic ICU can't do anything to stop it, you know it's hardcore. It usually starts in bad hospital or nursing home settings.

Please take the time to read this when you get a chance, it's something that can be detained if detected early enough, but a few hours can really make the difference between the antibiotics working or not.

Nobody should have see a loved one die this way when it could be avoided.

    Sorry for your loss.

Just try to remember how many good times you've had together and hold on to it tight so you have something to reflect back on.

When we have fathers that are there and give us cherished memories it truly a treasure. Not all of us have fathers we can remember fondly.

Sorry to hear about your dad Riff..my prayers go out to you and your family.

Sepsis is a nasty condition, and it doesn't have to start in a nasty setting. Hospitals have been fighting this a long time. When you are dealing with microbes, there is a awful lot of surface areas that can get contaminated and simply not enough means to keep it all free of the problem.

As smart as we think we are, the bugs are what is going to get us.

Riff, my thoughts are with you dude. Losing a family member is a rough blow to take. If you ever wanna talk about it, feel free.

As for Sepsis, it's a nasty nasty thing. The hospitals out here have been struggling with it mightily.

    Stay strong Russ.
