  • The question came up elsewhere of "Who is in Charge" of the various NFL teams. In essence, who has final say over the 53 man roster. The answer is: it can be anyone and it varies from team to team. Here they are:

    Cowboys: Owner/GM Jerry Jones

    Giants: GM Jerry Reese

Redskins: it was Shanahan, but not now. Bruce Allen GM interimly

    Eagles: Howie Roseman GM

    Bears: Phil Emery GM

    Lions: Tom Lewand Vice Chairman

    Packers: Ted Thompson GM

    Vikings: Rick Spielman GM

    Cardinals: Steve Keim GM

    49ers: Trent Baalke GM

    Seahawks: Pete Carroll HC

    Rams: Jeff Fisher HC

    Falcons: Tom Dmitroff GM

    Saints: Mickey Loomis GM

    Panthers: Dave Gettleman GM

Bucs: Now: 3 Glazer Brothers. No GM in place

    Patriots: Bill Belichick HC

    Bills: Doug Whaley GM

    Dolphins: Jeff Ireland GM

    Jets: John Idzik GM

    Ravens: Ozzie Newsome GM

    Bengals: Mike Brown Owner/GM

    Steelers: Art Rooney II, President

    Browns: Joe Banner CEO

    Texans: Rick Smith GM

    Colts: Ryan Grigson GM

    Jaguars: David Caldwell GM

    Titans: Ruston Webster GM

    Broncos: John Elway GM

    Chargers: AJ Smith GM

    Chiefs: John Dorsey GM

    Raiders: no one knows.

  • I see 3 HC's on that list. And 2 of them had 1st round bye's in this years playoffs. Maybe Randy Lerner should have kept Butch Davis. Wasn't he doing that?

  • I believe Butch is available.

Last I heard he was an "adviser" to the dearly departed Greg Schiano.

    Zombo

  • I just heard Howie Roseman on ESPN NFL Insiders. He said they wanted Chip Kelley because Kelley was willing ( and WANTED ) to keep the good players on the Eagles and adjust his system to them. Kelley didn't want to gut the team and get all "his" guys in there

    THAT'S WHAT WE NEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Roseman is only 38 years old. We have the 60 year old curmudgeon Joe Banner. I'm starting to hate our FO.

can we get that now though? Basically a coach that agrees to come here under the implicit understanding he has one year to win 8 games or more, and he has to do it with the current roster whether they fit what he likes to do or not.

The Eagles did it. They were 4-12 in 2012 and they had 3 pro bowlers. Then they hired Kelley and went 10-6 with a backup QB and won their division.

So your saying there's a chance???????

Backup quarterback, my ass. When the season started? This is Brady- Bledsoe redux. FYI Foles had the best qbr of any starting qb in the freaking league- yes, better than Manning, Brady, & Rodgers, You want to call a guy who threw 27 TD passes to only 2 interceptions a backup? Get out of here with that weak shit.

If not a backup - which he was at the start of the year, then perhaps just an 'unknown commodity' - like we had in Hoyer.

  • Strike Jeff Ireland off the list.....he just got axed yesterday....after I posted this.

    Which...of course, makes him available.

Latest news on Kelly is that he "wasn't confident" his college offensive system would work in the NFL. Seems to me then he was trying to be cautious in his approach to coaching in the NFL. Obviously he made the right decision.

Also heard Scot Pioli is looking for work. Ireland left because some of his big buck FAs (Wallace, Revis) didn't bring the desired results.

Revis went to Tampa, not Miami.
