Ray Farmer makes his first roster move as GM of Browns, signing defensive back Royce Adams
By Nate Ulrich Published: February 12, 2014Ray Farmer made his first roster move as general manager of the Browns, signing defensive back Royce Adams, a South Euclid native.
The team announced the move this evening.
"A Dream come true to have the opportunity to play for my home town!" Adams wrote on Twitter. "Truly a blessing."
The New York Jets signed Adams as an undrafted free agent from Purdue University in 2012, when new Browns coach Mike Pettine served as the Jets’ defensive coordinator. Adams spent the 2012 season on injured reserve with a knee injury. He also spent training camp with the Jets last summer.
The 5-foot-10, 187-pound Adams spent his first three seasons at Purdue playing cornerback before converting to wide receiver for his senior year. In 2011, Adams played for the Arena Football League’s Pittsburgh Power before making a leap to the NFL the following year.
Adams transferred to St. Edward High School as a senior from Glenville High School.

Probably just a guy to fill the 80 man roster. A small move by Farmer to begin his tenure. I have no problem with this.

Interesting, in 2010 it says he was in Browns Minicamp. Then went to Pittsburgh Power...
My gut says that this is one of those deals where the GM tells a guy he's talked to, "Yeah man, if I ever end up being a GM someday I'll give you a shot!"
I think this is going to work out well, he's just gotta be better than say, McFadden.
