His point was its a frivilous affair amd tradition and not something he cared to participate in after the game. In case you werent aware hes not the biggest fan of the media. Id just like to know why you felt the above quote was relevant to this thread. It seems you are the fvxking dumb one.

True enough. I don't suppose even Democratic presidents invite players merely on their ability to deliver a cheap shot.

Well, they're the same thing so no...

  • I HATE JAMES HARRISON...

for the late hit he put on pat white as he was going out of bounds that basically ended his days as a QB. not that he was great as a pro but it was a viscious hit on a defenseless player...totally unnecessary

That was Ike Taylor, not Harrison. Harrison destroyed Cribbs and McCoy though...the reason for all the hate breeding. One of the last "real" football players.

  • Hopefully, one of the last pro wrestlin' extremely dirty players in the NFL.

Once Harrison couldn't cheapshot, he was a loser.

"Real football player" and "piece of shit dirty bastard" are two different things. Harrison is the latter. Two years from now you will have changed your name to SuperBrowns to jump on the latest bandwagon as well.

  • if they (the steelers) resign harrison it would only be a minimal contract so he could retire as a steeler. that's it. he's done.

bye. see ya. have a nice day. drive safe.

    fucking silverback.

It's funny how many good athletes come out of Akron only to go somewhere they become hated.

  • I think the steelers are done with James. He talked shit on his way out of there, basically saying he couldn't wait to fuck dudes up when he came to town with the Bengals. They're moving on. He was never a real captain or leader anyway, he kept to himself and only gave a fuck about himself. So why bring him back? To mentor the noobs? He could care less....couldn't mentor them even if he wanted to, which he doesn't. I respect the dude, he's his own man...goes through life how he feels like. But there's certain things he's not capable of and that means now that his skills have diminished...his usefulness in the league is diminished even more. This is why guys like DQ carry value past their playing prime.

oh..my memory failed me....stand corrected...it was still a cheat dirty unnecessary shot as a defensless player was running out of bounds..in a meaningless part of a game that scorewise was settled.

That was a good clean hit, shoulder to shoulder that became head to head. Your memory is really bad.

    akron or kent state?

charlie frye and josh cribbs are the only other 2 guys to come out of those schools that i can name.

dri archer from kent state might get drafted but his size is worrisome.

    Jack Lambert (Kent State)

But I think what TopDawg meant was that Harrison was born in Akron, not the school.

Jack Lambert, and you're a Steeler fan?

  • The Pat White shot was legit...

Harrison was a scary, fierce LB, who looked to injure players, but he's done...

  • It was a cheap shot.we all know it...except you dumb ass steller fans...

    Jack Lambert HOF Kent State

Antonio Gates....possible future HOF Kent State

Jason Taylor.... possible future HOF Akron

  • That hit didn't look that cheap to me. But on the flip side, I don't get why hunker down and lower your body into a QB clearing going out of bounds then? Hands pushing on him to make sure he goes out sooner...ok.

Especally in today's NFL, where the QB is highly protected, like it or not. The majority of the players try to play by the new rules...with a few bad eggs (Harrison) who ignore the rules and then whine about it when they are fined.

I think most of it is spot on. Do some of the players want him back, probably. But you guys are near capped from what I understand, for them to even think about bringing back a guy who as low production as he just had....would have to be for barely above league min. He's too proud for that. That being said, he is saying that he wants to play till the wheels fall off so maybe he would come back for that much...I dunno. But his skill have diminished. I was at the Bengals games last year and he's still a monster, but he doesn't move right anymore. When you see him run off the field he looks fucked up. I can't explain it, but you can just tell there's a lot of miles on those legs. Dude probably has to tank a lot of pain meds just to get out on the practice field.
