  • With all these newbie JFF fans on here, perhaps they can contribute some to the trivia. Or they can learn a little bit of minutiae about their new favorite team. Nonetheless have at these:

    1. Besides Justin Gilbert, the Browns have used the #8 pick in the draft just one time in their history, who did they pick? Hint: quite a good player

    2. Besides JFF the Browns have used the #22 pick in the draft 5 times in their history. Name as many of the players they took at #22: Hint: at least one was a high quality player.

    3. The Browns took Joel Bitonio with pick #35. Name any one of the other 4 players they have taken in history with the #35 pick.

Hint: none taken since 1985...and that is probably the only one anyone could likely know.

    4. The Browns took a player from each of Texas A&M and Oklahoma St. in the first round.

Name that Browns draftee from Tex. A&M or OK. St. that is described here:

    A. 7th round 1979, OL, played 10 years, 2 times Pro Bowler

    B. 1st round 2012, QB, played 2 years here:

    E. 2d round 1982 DL played 6 years

    F. 2d round 1984 DB played 4 years

    5. Pierre Desir is not the first player from little Lindenwood to play for the Browns. Within the last decade the Browns had a player from Lindenwood play for them for 3 years. Name that player.

    6. A. Terence West, RB/KR from Towson St. (assuming he plays well) would not be the first quality RB/KR player from Towson St. Name a 2 time Pro Bowl RB/ST that played in the NFL that went to Towson.

    B. Another Special teams player from Towson St. played 20 years in the NFL. Name him.

    7. Johnny Fucking Football is the 8th QB taken out of Texas A&M in the draft since 1936. Name any two of the others.

    8. There have been 5 Hall of Famers taken with the #8 overall pick of the draft where the Browns got Justin Gilbert. Name these 5 HOFers.

    9. There has been only 1 Hall of Famer taken with the #22 overall pick of the draft where the Browns got Johnny Manziel. Name him

    10. There has never been a Hall of Fame player taken with the #35 pick in the draft. But two players whowere taken at #35 overall were Ohio St. players who both had relatives who were also famous athletes. Name these 2 Ohio St. Players.

I know Jim Brown was not a number one, but was he as low as 8?

    2. Besides JFF the Browns have used the #22 pick in the draft 5 times in their history. Name as many of the players they took at #22: Hint: at least one was a high quality player.

Quinn and Wheezy are obvious, but I'm not adverse to picking low hanging fruit.

    B. 1st round 2012, QB, played 2 years here: Wheezy

    C. 3rd round DL, 1970, 9 year starter, 4 Pro Bowls: Sherk (still my HOF oversight choice)

    7. Johnny Fucking Football is the 8th QB taken out of Texas A&M in the draft since 1936. Name any two of the others.

Ryan Tannehill (Miami in 2012)... Reggie McNeil (by Bengals a few years ago)... Gary Kubiak (by Denver more than a few ago)...

  • Gip,

I'm out for rest as I did some searching, but FYI I found 2 sites that list Jerry Sherk as a 2nd rounder.

  • No, not Jim Brown (he may have been like 4th 5th/7th

Amusingly, I think it was actually 6th.

Its possible I may have made a typo when I wrote 3rd round. The two and the three are right next to each other on my keyboard...how about yours? 😕

Except the R in 3rd and N in 2nd aren't. Unless you typo'd 3 and then rolled with it when following up with the letters?

LOL... I believe you because you said it, but would not have imagined you not knowing the exact date and time of JB's selection let alone the exact pick. 😉

... or in the glass half full lane...

JM has a chance to continue a pattern of every third player the Browns take at #22 overall being great. 🙂

On Gary Collins... great WR to be sure, but also a very good punter for us for many years. Not sure, but I believe he was our last position player to double as our regular punter.

On TAMU QBs... I should have at least been able to name Bucky Richardson in addition to those I did since he was drafted to be an Oiler backup.
