  • OK for all newbies, wannabes etc. out there, here is another primer on Browns acronyms and nicknames used throughout Browns history If you see these used in the forum, hopefully this will help you know who we are talking about:

    PB= Paul Brown

    JB= Jim Brown

    OG= Otto Graham

    BB= Bill Belichick

    BK= Bernie Kosar

    BW3= Brandon Weeden

    TR= Trent Richardson

    JFF= figure it out

    OZ= Ozzie Newsome

    DA= Derek Anderson

    BQ= Brady Quinn

    MoMass= Mohammed Massaquoi

    Robo= Brian Robiskie

    TC= Tim Couch

    Ben Gay= Ben Gay (distinguished from Big Gay Ben)

    Ice Cube= Gerald McNeil

    Flash= Josh Gordon

    Gluefingers= Dante Lavelli

    KJ= Kevin Johnson

    TJ= TJ Ward

    Bad Moon= Andre Rison

    2 pt. Tommy = Tom Tupa

    Foghorn Langhorne= Reggie Langhorne

    Oby = Chris Ogbanaya or Oblong Banana

    Touchdown Tommy= Tommy Vardell

    Mo= Dick Modzewlewski

    The Dubber = Dub Jones

    Fair Hooker = Fair Hooker

    The Toe= Lou Groza

    Bam Bam= Dick Ambrose

    Top Dawg= Hanford Dixon

    JT= Joe Thomas

    DQ= D'Qwell Jackson

    Big Daddy= Carl Hairston

    E-Rock= Eric Turner

    Cous= Tom Cousineau

    Turkey= Joe" Turkey" Jones

    Big Money= Gerard Warren

    Hee Hee= Michael Jackson (WR)

    Quiet Storm= Courtney Brown

    K2= Kellen Winslow II

    JJ= Joe Jurevicius

    The Sausage King= John Hughes

    Doctor= David Mays

    Prescription= Dave Zastudil

    The Flea= Walter Roberts

    Mad Dog in a Meat Market: Mike Junkin (who was anything but)

    Kiki= apparently, Barkevious Mingo

    Meister= Jeff Jaeger

    Trick Shot= Alex Tanney

    Dick Shiner= Dick Shiner (note, he and Fair Hooker and Ben Gay don't nee actual nicknames)

    Actually was "Little Mo"... a DL we got from the Giants. His smaller brother "Big Mo", Ed Modzewlewski, was a FB with us.

    And Ozzie's full nickname was "The Wizard of Oz"...

    I don't recall Metcalf ever having any sort of nickname.

    And I agree that when I heard people calling Hairston "Big Daddy" that I thought that name should have been reserved for Lipscomb....but Hairston came a generation later so what do you do?

    More of a description of how he was often improperly used. But, yes, I can here Jim Donovan making that call.
