Dansby and Whitner call out Gilbert

Meanwhile back at the thread...
Seems both of our 1st rounders are singing the same tune...

Meanwhile a certain Mr. Skrine that Steve mentioned is in the FA Catbird's seat.

Give Skrine a good contract. Keep Gilbert and Manziel on an extremely short leash and hope for the best.
-
Yep. Think it would be bad business letting Skrine get away. In the article posted by Tour and the video posted below, he basically says what I heard Hoyer saying earlier in the season....." I plan to start".....and he is in EXACTLY the same situation that Hoyer was(is), which is playing ahead of a first round pick.....he knows they WANT Gilbert to play, like Hoyer feels they wanted JFF to play.....
so....does he sign here and continue to hear about Gilbert or go elsewhere where he "could" be the best CB on the team?
Watch the video and tell me, based upon his answers, if you think he sounds hesitant about saying he'll be back.....(I do)
I hear him saying I like it here, but....i want to start at CB and dont want to play nickle....
-
About what, periennially taking terrible first rounders? It's part of the problem with this franchise, and it's ridiculous.
Dude they are rookies. And we had more wins in 13 years with a TON of injuries and people are still whining.

Excuses. Nut up. This team was 7-4 and is about to finish at 7-9.

Coach said he regressed and had a bad week of practice, hence the reason Desir started....
Honestly, I dont care WHO starts and am just happy we have fixed the DB's. The way I see it, we went into the draft trying to fix the CB situation. Picked the one with the highest ceiling, then got a few more as back up. So, as long as Farmer got it covered, who cares which one plays most or is ready to play first.???
Gilbert may still end up being the best one.....you never know.....
But if we subscribe to this line of thinking we will have one less thing to wring our hands over. I don't know about you guys, but I'm not comfortable unless there is a doomsday scenario lurking around every corner.
Furthermore, who are you to say something as silly as "you never know"?! I always know! I can take even the most mundane piece of media flair and plot a no-bones-about-it-set-in-stone prediction prophecy spanning decades.
Gilbert has been in the league for almost EIGHT MONTHS! He will never be anything more than he is now, book it.
WHOOOO! complaining makes my dick hard!

Don't you know, all rookies should be dominant from day one.......

Not dominate but playing ahead of 4th round rookies when the position is depleted.
"True Browns Fans" never blame the talent on the the field, always the coaches

Something tells me the Farmer transition isn't going so well.
For these rookies (Gilbert & Manziel) to behave the way they do with lack of effort and energy speaks volume. There is something culturally wrong in this organization from TOP DOWN.

Totally disagree. Out of all our draft picks and free agent signings, only 2 of them have shown they aren't ready for the NFL. That is NOT indicative of a team culture problem.

The Ben Tate signing and release.
The Gordon suspension, reinstatement, suspension and now possible done in Cleveland.
It isn't the picks, but the LACK of effort from our top picks. These guys are babied, pampered, etc.
Yes, the transitions isn't going well because these type of chit just doesn't happen very often in a top organization.

Well Gordon was taken in the supplemental draft due to character issues so certainly not a browns problem. As for Tate, he was no better than Crowell or West so we no longer needed him. Minnesota just released him too. So hardly a browns issue. So far I like Pettine and Farmer. No need to blow anything up..The Ben Tate signing and release.

And what about Manziel and Gilbert's efforts and continue struggle?

In my original post I referenced 2 players that have struggled. These are the two. We can certainly criticize these draft picks - although I still believe Gilbert will be okay. My point is 2 struggling rookie players don't represent a cultural problem with the team.

It's a huge decision, but you can't keep them all. I think K-waun made Shrine expendable. Desir showing promise reinforced that. Add to that the fact that right now Gipson is our "must sign" in the secondary and it is easy to understand Shrine's obvious lack of confidence in remaining a Brown.
OOBOO don't like it when someone takes his rum.
It's Jobu (Joe-boo)... you're thinking of the dog at the end of "Cheers" episodes, Ubu... as in "Sit, Ubu. Sit."
My point is 2 struggling rookie players don't represent a cultural problem with the team.
It can if you want it to...

"Gilbert, the top cornerback selected in the draft out of Oklahoma State, has been a colossal disappointment this season because he couldn't get it together off the field. He displayed one of the worst attitudes some in the organization have ever seen, and was frequently late to team meetings."
But this isn't a bust first round pick, cornerback is soooo tough. The rose colored glasses you "true fans" wear are hilarious.
Could Gilbert turn it around next year, sure he seems to have the physical gifts necessary, but right now he's a bust and another blown first round pick.
I don't want Farmer fired just want him to own up to his mistakes.
-
Gilbert was late to meetings yesterday and is inactive today
1st round talent 6th round head BUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
