Once again Patriots prove you don't waste cap space on a DB

Well... At least not THAT much cap space.

The Bucaneers invested a ton of money in Revis in 2013 and look where it got them. Picking behind the Browns. Revis is past his prime. I'm glad the Browns aren't that stupid. The Jets are always willing to spend just ask Buster Skrine, Eric Decker, Mike Vick, Santonio Holmes, Kellen Winslow, Braylon Edwards, Chris Johnson..........

Fuck him then. Shut the thread down.
-
Jets also front runners to sign Cromartie, which would push Skrine back to nickel.

Didn't they at one time have both Revis AND Cromartie?
I mean, why the nostalgia? They won't be any good.....the QBs they have may actually be worse than the Browns.

I don't see how they get Mariota. The Titans have Zack Mettenberger, Jordan Palmer, Charlie Whitehurst, and Alex Tanney as their QBs right now.
If Mariota is there for the taking do you not think they would go that way?
Do you think they have enough faith in Mettenberger to say: You are our guy?

titans are their stumbling block (the jets). BUT they both have HUGE needs besides another rookie QB to boom or bust. i think they both play play it safe and address their lines.

They liked him enough to let Locker walk (and then ultimately retire). Titans GM Ruston Webster said they are happy with Mettenberger and think he has the tools to be their starting QB and that the number two draft position isn't all about a quarterback for them.
Of course, some could be smoke, but these rumors about Mettneberger being their favorite started last season, well before the draft board was even set.

OK, well....that sounds like the Cleveland Browns you are talking about. (But the Browns are not in position to take Mariota....if they were....no doubt fans would be all over that possibility)

I am of the opinion that the Titans may want to start a bidding war for that pick. If they truly are interested in shoring up their lines, they would be better getting multiple lower picks to do that.

And who better to trade with them then the team that has multiple first round picks and multiple fourth round picks.
From Tennessee's standpoint, I'd take Cleveland's firsts and fourths all day.
It's much easier for me to play GM of other teams than it is for me to play GM of the Browns. I wonder if that's the same problem our real life GM's have.

So? Are you advocating trading our picks to the Tits to pick the Hotel Chain?

If we had added an offensive lineman, defensive tackle and maybe OLB in FA, then yes.
As it stands now...no.
I would, however, trade #12, our second, and next years first, then attempt to move back from #19 to the late first and acquire another mid round pick (3rd/4th).
That would enable us to get Mariota, plus a DT like Goldman, Armstead or Bennett, and plausibly a decent OLB, OL, ILB and WR in rounds 3 and 4.
