we're gonna have some up and down years...

I know i'm as critical of some of the play i'm seeing as anyone, but by halftme yesterday there were people all set to throw out yet another entire coaching staff. I know you're supposed to be able to say whatever you want here but it really needs to be looked at to put the nip in that talk. Cause this team might play better and they might play worse. And this might go on for a couple years. This team has never had real continuity since they came back. Part me thinks the fan base has in some part to do with this. When the fans clamor so loudly for a guy to kick rocks, ownership..especially the pussies we've had to endure since 99...I think may have caved to the fan base at least to some extent.
Look at every successful team in the NFL, with almost no exceptions they've had coaches that have been there for awhile.

I completely agree....it happens every week and if we're losing at halftime this week to Denver, it will happen again.

Pettine's team has never quit on him since he's been here. From the record-breaking comebacks last year to our games this year. Most other Browns teams since 99' would fold when they get down by a couple of scores, especially late in the game.
Until that happens, I see no reason to quit on him - although I'll still question O'Neil if things don't turn around by season's end.

Completely agree with both points. Down by 2 scores used to mean the end of the game in years past and that just hasn't happened with the current regime. The defense is a concern and I could see a change if we start losing. As long as the offense bails out the defense, I don't see any changes. Although the defense has cost us at least 2 possible wins against Oakland and San Diego.

we can't have the turnstile as the most well greased machine in the browns org. my hat's off to haslam as he is an owner that seems to get it. i don't know who's advice he is taking but keep listening jimmy.
last year the majority of fans were happy and impressed with the FO and coaching staff. you can't just turn around 6 months later and say they suck. maybe the players suck, or just aren't playing to mid-season form yet.
give it some time. cuz in the end you're gonna love it.
"BAIRD school for boys? you mean BAIRD school for bums! and nick and frankie....fuck you too!"

i'm sure this team will quit by seasons end. And yeah we can maybe blame pet for that. But honestly what are they gonna do? This team just isn't talented enough to hand with some of those powerhouses on our schedule. It's only a matter of time, perhaps by next weekend...that a team just comes for McCown.

Why would they quit this year when they didn't last year? They went into Baltimore in week 17 with a practice squad QB starting and played tough against the Ravens in a game the Rats had to win. There has been no evidence of this team quitting with Pettine as the coach.

you don't thik they kind of eased it after they realize Hoyer was shitting the bed consistently? It looked like it to me.

yeah like we've played scrubs for the past 5 weeks.

There were changes on the defence. Kruger played well under half of the snaps for the first time this season; while Orchard and Tank Carder (yes really) played well over half.
