Hue Jackson Hired
-
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Browns are "finalizing" a deal to make Bengals OC Hue Jackson their new head coach.
Cleveland isn't expected to let Jackson leave town for his interview with the Giants. Odd to say, but the Browns are making a heck of a decision here. Jackson is one of the brighter offensive minds and a nose-to-the-grindstone coach who has the ability to turn this team around. Jackson is expected to have control of the 53-man roster in Cleveland. First order of business: finding a quarterback. Josh McCown could be a stopgap option after a strong 2015, but he was injured too much, so Jackson will need to find another reliable option if McCown is brought back.

Apparently there will be a formal announcement this afternoon

This is really great news for us. This was the top guy on my board anyway. Now we've gotta get him players and give him time

His first name is Huey.
We need a Lewis.

now we wait and see who he picks as coordinators. I hope he keeps Flip as OC, no clue who I would want as DC, anyone but O’Neil.

Congrats! Loss to the Bengals, but he deserved another shout as HC and looks to be a great fit for the Browns.

I still don't believe it. That isn't how it always goes for the Browns.

Nice choice for head coach.
Hopefully it turns out to be the right one long-term.

Goodbye Johnny Manziel.

I believe it, and I'm completely stoked. Our radio guys made an excellent point on yesterday's show: Yes, Hue Jackson ran successful offenses with the Bengals, when he had immense talent, but he also ran a decently successful offense while coaching the Oakland Raiders, and their talent level was far inferior to Cincy's.
Further, this means that Flip will be snapped up by another team, as we've heard that he has received substantial interest from several other franchises. Hue will most certainly run the offense, and whatever coordinator he hires on offense (if he hires one), will be something of a glorified QB coach. The big question is...who will run the defense?
Maybe we can keep O'Neil! Bwahaha...I kid, I kid.
