  • i didn't watch enough of the kid to say, would he be worth a 3rd? would they give him up for a 3rd?

  • *sigh*

If McCarron was the future face of the Bengals franchise they wouldn't trade him to a divisional rival = #1

Second, he hasn't really proved anything and he only cost them a 5th round pick. Our future is not going to come from a 5th round pick selected by a divisional rival = #2

Mccown would look like an pro bowler on that Bengals team with all the ridiculous talent and the best coach in the history of the world (Hue), McCarron looked OK - Dalton looked like a superstar.

  • I like him but you're right. I thought he might be better than waiting for another to develop in a mediocre draft class. That's all. If we had taken a QB two years ago we wouldn't be in the same predicament. I hate to see Bosa go to someone else because we still need a first round for a QB. ITS TIRING

Hand to God my first take was:

  • Well, if we are doing a twilight zone thread, let's bring Mike Glennon into the episode...

Please- before the season started, NFL.com had our very own Austin Davis ranked ahead of him. Ditto TJ Yates.

As BB and myself have pointed out- THE BENGALS WILL NOT TRADE HIM TO THE BROWNS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES- Will all McCarron nuthuggers please get that through your heads?

Well, they might- if we offered our #2 overall for him. LOLOLOL!!!!!

If we're going to waste a third round on a developmental qb- we take Cardale Jones, who probably has more upside than McCarron.

There it is......and have said the same several times too.....

And....even if they would trade(and they wont)...he's not anything special....certainly not someone Id want to build a team around....

  • Drew Stanton he's the man.

He may well turn out to be special, as some of us predicted back in his draft, but he certainly did not show anything in his 2015 starts that he did not show at Bama.

AJ is just the latest in a long string of backup QBs that have caught the attention of some here... and now he'll be stuck in their heads until pre-season when there will be backups galore on display.
