We could have a Lombardi Trophy if the Browns would've pulled the strings and acquired Graig Morton.

Maybe, but I think it might have taken a little more than one guy. He might have helped though.

    That's Craig Morton.

He quit in '83. The Browns were mediocre in '79 and bad in '81, so the only year Craig could have helped win a Super Bowl was the Kardiac Kids year in '80. Brian Sipe was really good that year.

We'll have to wait and see what Gip has to say about this.

Craig Morton was drafted in 1965 by the Cowboys. He was more of a contemporary of Bill Nelsen than Brian Sipe. He started SBV for the Cowboys, then lost his job to Staubach, then went on to start for the Broncos in the Super Bowl after the 1977 season....lost to his old Cowboy team with Staubach at QB.

He was fairly well washed up after that, just hanging around as a backup. The Browns would have been better off with him than with like Mike Phipps.

I believe that he, Kurt Warner, and Peyton Manning may be the only QBs to start and lose a SB for two different teams.

Peyton is the only QB to start and win a SB for two different teams.

Only one other QB won a title with 2 different teams, pre Super Bowl: Tobin Rote, Winning QB starter for Lions in 1957 title game, winning QB starter for Chargers in 1963 AFL title game.
