That Oakland secondary will need all the help they can get from their front 7.

I remember some of us wanting the Browns to draft Dak Prescott after they traded out of #2. He looks good

Just saw the game, and Dak looked good. The Cowboys also seemed to have more of their play book open compared to other teams. I remember Eric Zeier looking real good in pre-season too, so time will tell.😉 Good 1st impression though.

  • Caught a couple other games...

    DAL @ LA

    • Tough 1st game for my main guy, Goff, but saw a lot of the same there there I saw in his Cal tape... composure, read progressions, a future... not a lot of help from supporting cast including getting racked in middle of INT toss and rocked by a sack after a simple DT/DE game... plus a couple drops
    • Fantastic debut for my 2016 darkhorse QB, Dak... shades of Russell Wilson V2.0... reads, arm, legs, poise. Early yet, but da Boys may just go with a rookie backup this season.

    OAK @ AZ

    • OAK looked like the AFCW contender I thought they might be... D looks deep (especially LBs) as does their RB stable...
    • AZ looked surprisingly disinterested... They better hope Palmer stays healthy.

Couple more week 1 match-ups are teed up to record...

Arains is not calling the plays this preseason. Goodwin is getting his experience as Arains is giving him a chance to audition.

The Cards moved the ball well in the fort series and like so many other teams a lot of starters didn't play. You are correct on Palmer, if he goes down the Cards are screwed.

If your concern is the C position? FA- not-ta..Scanning thru all team rosters, all carry 3 but only Balt.,Pitts.Houston,SD,Philly(Wisnieski) & Skins are carrying 4 at this point. Maybe the teams to watch for cuts at C..

Center is a concern as well as RT, RB, DE, LB and more importantly QB considering one is down, the starter will be lucky to make it to week 3 and our vet is prob playing on his last leg and a banana peel.

    Another great draft though!

No not really. Shipley is there and we drafted Boehm. We do have Watford on the bench as well.

My view on other "players" that I watched over the weekend:

    A. Browns could use a speedster like Usain Bolt on the outside. He might be a bit slow off the line, but he passes everyone after about 25 yards.

    B. There is a Chinese female weightlifter that could likely block as well as Cam Erving at OC.

    C. Simone Biles is like only 4'8", but she has the vertical leap of a cat, about 10". We could use her to defend the Hail Mary pass for sure.

    D. The Browns could switch places with the American men's basketball team. At least the Browns, though less talented, would play with more heart.

    E. We could use Kerry Walsh Jennings on our DL. The Browns would lead the league in tipped/blocked passes.

DL is just one of the many positions Mingo isn't any good at..

Caught the 1st half of the MN/SEA tilt last nite.

The MN D looked great as a whole. Zimmer is doing a helluva job. Questions around his decision to sit a healthy Bridgewater swirled throughout the game. Shaun "Apparently still not over the" Hill looked good including a couple great throws to TE Kyle Rudolf.

SEA? Defense flew around as per usual, but committed key penalty after penalty keeping MN drives alive in Q2. Offensively their line remains a work in progress. IIRC their QBs were sacked 4 times in the first half.

    Other Week 2 observations:

    NO @ HOU

    • Clowney looked as good as he has as a pro... speed plus strength. Still "took plays off" but when he flew he flew. Had a sack in which he rag-dolled my top 2014 OT, Peet, and a backside close on a run away from him.
    • The Brockweiler looked comfortable for the most part and dropped a couple nice passes in the bucket.
    • The Watt-less D flew to the ball. Fierce gang tackling abounded.
    • Looked like another long year ahead for NO with not a lot of run game to take the load off Brees.
    • Nick Fairley led an improved look D... but they had a lot of room to improve.

    KC @ LA

    • KC's O looks anemic. Smith was harassed early and often as blitzers poured thru his OL. Run game was meh with Jamal Charles sidelined.
    • KC's D looked undistinguished.
    • For LA Keenum was efficient as starter. Goff struggled against the KC 1's, but looked good in 2nd half against the 2's. 2nd year RB Malcolm Brown out of UT stood out among all the backs.
    • LA's D was impressive. Front 7 led by Aaron Donald had fun. AD even dropped into coverage in a zone blitz which got to Smith.

    BLT @ IND

    • Only watched a little, but again BLT looked good on D, but not on O despite nice outing by Mallet. Looks like they lost Elam for sometime TBD (knee).
    • Luck looked ready to roll. Supporting players are the question again for the Colts.

    Fins @ 'Boys

    • Dak... 'nuff said... but whole team is playing well... and without Zeke so far.
    • Fins' Suh was blowing up OL, but to no effect. Tannehill showed flashes, but by now you'd expect more.

    Misc. from Highlights....

    • Bengals are starting to frighten me.
    • Landry "LOL" Jones...
    • TN RBs seemed mortal.
    • DNV QB additions continue.

Suh versus Nick Martin and co. I'll have to check that out.

    KC @ LA

Still may have a few hiccups calling them the LA Rams again. But not as bad as when they went to St. L.

after the jm fiasco, Dak was never going to happen because he got a DUI.

Probably, cal, but shame on us if that was the case.

Dak's DUI seems to have been a one-off... and teams should be able to tell the difference between that and character flaws like a complete lack of character.
