this article would assume Stafford would turn out to be as over-hyped and over-rated as Brady Quinn.

and matching the level of over-hype of Brady Quinn would be nearly impossible.

And none shall match the level of over backing of DA

    Ha Haaaa! FishHooooooooooooooooooooook!

At least there is some reference to DA in the world. The DA buzz silence is deafening.

Cuelpeper was good in Miami. He was below par in Oakland. but i still liked him there ... talking of Oakland ..is Andrew Walter still the backup QB there ?

No, Jeff Garcia is the back up or starter now. Catch up with the NFL

I will disagree with the DA situation.

DA has many years of playing time left ... and is pretty decent and healthy.

Cuelpepper is past his prime ... is excellent as a backup ... nice chap no doubt ... but has health issues .. not the best knee. I would prefer to compare him to Kery Collins than Derek Anderson.

It's funny I see this. I was just thinking yesterday how Cullpepper and DA are the same QB. Big guys who can chuck the ball down field, but can't read a D or make the short/intermediate passes to save their lives.

Three Pro bowls for Culpepper , a feat most NFL QBs would like to obtain... so you apparently have a higher opinion of DA than a lot of the people here.

The Lions would take anything right now with any NFL exp. I would like to see them turn things around. The fans in Detroit show some class. They are way better than Pittsburgh fans.

I heard that Mathew Stafford wants a 40 million dollar contract... GUARANTEED from the Lions.

And, the Lions already have a tentative contract with Curry.

Curry or OL Smith will be the Lions' pick.

I think they take Curry, and trade their 2nd round pick to the Browns for DA.

DA isn't worth it, but don't tell Detroit that.

    Here's an idea.

Let's draft Sanchez, and if he holds out, as many seem to do, we'll start DA.

This will give him a chance to learn with a clip board in his hand and really get to know the NFL, the well established way to increase your QB skills.

We don't want to risk a Rothlisberger, Flacco, and Ryan situation and have all of the anxiety that goes with playoff runs, Super Bowls, etc. It would be much better to follow the Rogers, Leinart, Quinn method of easing into the NFL.

    😒
