    Adams, McDonald, Ivy, or Poteat.

Or some kid they pick with one of thier 6th rounders..

There is always that too. But with the addition of Elam, Adams can now be the backup FS and be the slot man if desired. McDonald isn't actually that bad and could be really effective covering the slot. CB is not really a need for CLE coming into the draft. It was a nice to have. It's funny how the experts who said it was a need a year ago were saying CLE could have a potential great combo with McDonald/Wright.

Some people have tunnel vision and can't or refuse to see outside the box.

I think some people get ticked when the professional evaluators view players and needs differently then they do.

Rey is a good example. All year long people bought in to the hype and envisioned the next Ray Lewis, yet when the rubber met the road, he was the last starting USC backer selected.

    Why is that???

The answer is in the first words of this post.

Right on ballpeen. I guess I wasn't crazy when I said Rey was the 3rd best LB coming out of USC, at least as seen on draft day by teams

A few years down the road we will all know who the 3rd rated backer out of USC is. Maybe we just got him in Maiava. time will tell.

And, my friend, you weren't crazy according to NFL GMs taht run a 3-4 defense.

People don't realize how much better Mack will make Steinbach and Hadnot/Tucker/Womack. Last year they had to provide help and there was no getting up field to the second level on running plays and teams were getting push right up the middle and that won't happen now. Plus the QB will actually have WRs to throw the ball to. I don't think teams will be able to play 8 in the box and single our WRs.

Should be a lot of smiles in Berea.

compared to what NE got...and the other trades...kokinis got schooled especially in regard to Sanchez trade...a second rounder and a saftey& two backups? The Rookie showed his colors today...we got a 6th for tampa movin up to 17...short changed...a 6th for phily movin up to 19....Ne gets a 5th for baltimore to move up to 23.... schooled!!!

Would you rather have Maclin, Rey, (massaqua) and rashard johnson??/ i sure as hell would

Solon, I agree with you 100%, We just got taken to school today, and this leads me to believe that Mangini is running everything with this team and Kokinis is just a figurehead..

Our biggest need was pass rusher and we got none, we needed a running back and we got none, a center and 2 wide receivers and a converted DE is not what I would have expected.

Tell me how many 2nd day picks make NFL rosters or any type of impact, we got a bunch of 6th round picks....whoooooooooo, if we are expected to build this team into a winner with a bunch of 2nd day picks we are in BIG TROUBLE

For the people who think we were smart to pass on Rey, just remember when Rey is playing in the Pro bowl what we could have had

This team still has no identity on defense, we have no linebackers who you can say are better than average, and don't tell me about all the tackles D'Qwell makes, the playmakers in a 3-4 are the LB's and who do we have at linebacker, Wimbley=BUST, Old Man Barton, Unproven=Hall.

    This draft was TERRIBLE

    Good enough?

Why don't you tell many how many Browns players drafted on the 2nd day have amounted to anything?

Yea we have a Nickle back in McDonald, a RB in Harrison who gets 5 touches per game.

I love the way you guys pick out 15-20 players who have made it when there are over 1700 players on NFL rosters each year, yea its true maybe 2% of 6th round picks amount to something more than depth in the NFL

As for the trade you guys act as though we got quality players, we got 3 guys from the Jets who were going to be backups with the Jets

We should be drafting in the top 10 again next year

This draft makes me wish Butch Davis and Phil Savage was back and they were both terrible

Actually that list was just off the top of my head. There are hundreds of other players that have been picked in the later rounds that went on to be impact players. Good teams have a way of finding these players including undrafted players. The fact that the browns have not had many impact players taken in the later rounds says more about your management than anything else. Hell, you have had alot of first round players that ended up being busts. But the fact is there are many players that will be taken in later rounds that are going to make a difference on a team.

We traded back from #5 gave the Jets a Franchise QB and we get 2 guys who were not good enough to start for the Jets then we make trades down with both Tampa and Philly to pickup extra picks in the 6th round when most 6th rounders don't make NFL rosters, why don't you look back the last 5 years the number of 6 round picks that have actually made a NFL roster.

Then we take 2 receivers who are exactly the same player and reach for a LB from Hawaii, Mangini wants to prove how smart he is and in 3 years you and everybody will be crying for a new coach after we win another 18 games over the next 3 years. Mangini thinks he is Belichek, sorry but there is only one Billy B, the Browns will regret the day they hired this MORON.

Look at every mock draft, reports coming out of PIT, every PIT paper, and the fact they only have one C on their depth chart. There was a high chance PIT was going to take Mack at 32

Wrong again Masters, the Steelers were only going to draft a defensive lineman or wide receiver in the 1st round, I don't care what you read or read it,they just payed Starks and Kemomateu (SP) and signed a FA center last season and was not going to spend a 1st round pick on a offensive lineman, they needed to get younger on the defensive line.

You are the type of stupid fan (since you are gonna pull that out on someone) who think the flashy player with highlight reels is the way to go. You have your opinion the Browns got screwed, which would seem to be the minority, as everyone covering the draft, from TV to newspapers (local and national) think CLE got a heck of a deal from the Jets. Especially when you throw in player and system familiarity that comes with that. Throw in that Coleman was indeed a starter for several games last season, as did Elam. Should you really be throwing around the term Stupid Fan when you don't even know what these guys did last year as Jets?

Robiskie and Mossaquoi are not the same player at all. One is a solid #2 who brings a deep threat and the other is a solid possession slot receiver. The only similarities are height, weight, and playing at BCS schools. CLE didn't exactly reach for the kid from Hawaii either. He was a projected mid 3rd rounder.

How much of that lack of pass rush is player and how much is the actual defensive play calling. Having watched the Browns, it ain't all about the players. You aren't going to get pressure on a QB rushing 3 and 4 all the time. Especially if that 4th is always the same OLB.

Did you really just start a post talking about the Bengals draft then put prefer teams that won some football games over high character guys in the same sentance?

Notice the teams that passed over Rey that could use a LB, which included CLE. Heck, PIT could have grabbed him for S&Gs and they didn't. There is a reason. He doesn't fit a 3-4 and there are other questions about him.

You continue to show how ignorant you are with the name calling

Would you be calling me these names if I was standing next to you in the same room

Tough guy over the Internet hiding behind a computer

Continue acting like the 10 year old you are

BTW, Elam would have been a backup with the Jets same as Coleman so before you try to question me at least know your facts

Why don't you go buy a Sports Illustrated or Sporting News magazine and learn something about football and GROW UP AND ACT LIKE A MAN

NOW RUN ALONG AND PLAY LITTLE BOY

ROFL....Mr. Pot, Mr. Kettle would like to talk to you. Don't tell me about name-calling. You are the expert at it. I also don't purport to know what ManKok feels the team needs are, like you claim you do. Not being a tough guy at all, I'd tell you that you are an idiot if you were standing here. Its tough guys like you that feel the need to resort to violence because their sensitive little egos can't take someone disagreeing with them.

Also, I believe its 10 yr olds that feel only their word is right and ignore all others, even those paid to do what they do. That shoe seems to fit you more than me. So once more, Mr. Pot, Mr. Kettle would like to see you.

SO which NFL Team do you work for?

Actually I believe Elam did start for the Jets last year. and someone already off the top of thier head showed you how many late round picks have turned out to be quite good.

I'll go the other way with you. In past years we've drafted a Wimbley, or a Faine, or a Courtney Browns JUST BECAUSE they were the best player available at the time we picked, or they filled some need even if they were a reach.

as you said, it's all everyone's opinion here, no one's an expert. As for what people can see. I think Steive would have been more chagrined at what we potentially were lining up at WR than he would be with our LB corps. But then again I think Stevie is a Quinn fag anyway.....

Elam started a few games ONLY because of injury last season, if the guy was as great as everyone is trying to make him to be don't you think he would have signed more for 1.5 mil per season, the guy was a backup safety and people to try to justify the trade is trying to act like we got the next Roy Palamalu and Coleman was a backup DE with the Jets, for those who don't know the players they should do some research before talking about how good these guys are, guys that are backups are usually because they are not good enough to start.

The best player the Browns received in the trade was the quarterback Radcliff who will be the starting QB on this team next year, he is better than Brady Quinn and the Quinn lovers will see how not so good Brady is.

As far as Wimbley the guy is a BUST a one trick pony who the league has figured out, how much longer are we going to wait on this guy to prove he is a bust, but he is such a high character guy I am sure he get another few seasons.

The Browns seem to like high character guys who are poor football players
