We are up against ourselves and a severe lack of talent. Watching our players drop some big throws, especially early, was enough to make me vomit. The Coleman slant really hurt. I don't remember, but it looked like he could've caught it and run. He scored a bunch of TD's in college that way. And Gary...CATCH THE DAMN BALL.
I don't think we'll lose by 19 again, but I do think we'll lose by around 10. The differences in the game are:
We'll struggle (again) in red zone, and Ravens won't. We'll get FG's, they'll get TD's.
We won't get pressure on Flacco, and they'll get plenty on us. Josh holds the ball a bit too long, and we'll notice it this week.
We won't be able to run the ball, and Ravens will.

NE still had a nucleus of players from their last Superbowl team like Willie McGinest, Ted Johnson, Drew Bledsoe and others. In Cleveland, he took over a hornet's nest. And when he brought Vinny T here who got injured - we ended up watching the Todd Philcox football follies the rest of the year. Poor guy...
Why all that? When you're playing gridiron chess with more pawns than attack pieces against teams with more attack pieces than pawns, it's pretty easy to ask why all the penalties and mistakes. When Joe Thomas faces his most challenging pass rushers, that's usually when he's most apt to get busted for a false start or a holding penalty. Now imagine how much others that are far more challenged and far less experienced tend to get flagged.
