He is a fucking dimwit. You ask a guy to get off the fucking plane, and he behaves like a cunt? They should have gaffed him with an ice hook through his eye and then dragged him off. What the fuck is it with people believing they matter more than the rules. Fuck this piece of shit. Fuck Joe Thomas, as well.
F... United. Fly the Friendly Skies- too bad it's the unfriendly ground. He wasn't "asked" Tom he was TOLD to get the hell off the plane. Yeah, the guy is shady, but you can bet he's gonna get big bucks from U\A. They could have put that crew on another damn plane. Nice way to piss off potential customers- like me. Having the cops drag a ticketed passenger off a plane to make way for a flight crew that's "gotta" be there isn't a big enough excuse for that crap. Yeah- a bunch of the other passengers walked off the plane they were so disgusted.
United could have just kept upping the ante until he voluntarily left- it would have been way cheaper than the Million$$$ in bad publicity this is going to cost them.

I just flew United back through Chicago on Saturday evening to Akron Canton. If they had offered it to me I would have taken it....as long as it came with a hotel.

We would have taken it , show us the money... free next flight...
hawaiian vacation.......

Not for $1000.00. For one person out of Cleveland lowest cost on Travelocity is about $1100.00. That is just for the flight.
Now, if we go fly into LA for a tailgate for the Rams game, you can get a flight for about $350. If you stay in cheaper motels, that 1K would probably cover the cost of that trip.
That is why I am anxious for the schedule to come out. I have sightseeing plans for SoCal for one of my trips. If I could combine that with a Browns game, it could be cool. But the timing has to be right. No early Sept. game would work, nor "holiday" season game.
The thing that could make this work for me is that I have enough miles for a free flight...Continental US.
Plus, it is almost 100% that I would not be able to make the London game. It would be nice, but costs would be a hindrance, and it would not be politically correct to go without my wife....and that would about double costs plus she has to work and could not get off.

ah. well, it's been twenty years since we spent two weeks adventuring in Hawaii.
Wonder if it's changed much....

This guy is a fucking creep. Fucking convicted for drugs for sex scheme and gets his license back, just to make an ass out of himself on the flight.
What the fuck should united have done? Offer him 10 million dollars and a blowjob? Fucking liberals are cancer to humanity. Obey the goddamned rules. They should have beaten him to a pulp. Fucking misanthropic complainer. I guess United should have fucked all the other passengers and catered to this jackoff, no matter how long it delayed this flight and backed up other ones?
Anyone who is not on United's side on this is a fucking asshole.
Where is the link? I call bullshit.

1) The flight was NOT overbooked.
Thus, you are 100% wrong when saying that United legally kicked him off the plane.
The statutory provision granting them the ability to deny boarding is about “OVERSALES”, specifically defined as booking more reserved confirmed seats than there are available. This is not what happened. They did not overbook the flight; they had a fully booked flight, and not only did everyone already have a reserved confirmed seat, they were all sitting in them. The law allowing them to denying boarding in the event of an oversale does not apply.
Even if it did apply, the law is unambiguously clear that airlines have to give preference to everyone with reserved confirmed seats when choosing to involuntarily deny boarding. They have to always choose the solution that will affect the least amount of reserved confirmed seats. This rule is straightforward, and United makes very clear in their own contract of carriage that employees of their own or of other carriers may be denied boarding without compensation because they do not have reserved confirmed seats. On its face, it’s clear that what they did was illegal – they gave preference to their employees over people who had reserved confirmed seats, in violation of 14 CFR 250.2a.
Furthermore, even if you try and twist this into a legal application of 250.2a and say that United had the right to deny him boarding in the event of an overbooking; they did NOT have the right to kick him off the plane. Their contract of carriage highlights there is a complete difference in rights after you’ve boarded and sat on the plane, and Rule 21 goes over the specific scenarios where you could get kicked off. NONE of them apply here. He did absolutely nothing wrong and shouldn’t have been targeted. He’s going to leave with a big, big check.
In short: Despite all the cursing, the very act of asking Dr. Dao to get off was illegitimate, and calling the airport cops didn’t make it OK.
2) Kids on a plane had to watch cops beat up and throw a senior citizen into an armrest. Everyone ready for vacation?
