    Hahaha! Good one...

  • Is it possible they're doing targeted advertising? Like in this area we'll hear more or less local companies while people in pgh get to hear about some new bathouses opening across from heinz field?

You can bet it is targeted, the technology is certainly there. Tuning into Directv here in Dayton, I get plenty of local advertising. Tune into Ohio State football and there's plenty of Motorist Mutual (HQed in Columbus) ads.

& don't get me started ranting on how many (probably billions) of your insurance dollars are going into those national ads from GEICO, Progressive, State Farm, and others.

I don't think so. For Quicken Loans, Goodyear and Progressive it was actually Golic or Greenberg reading the commercial script.

Again, yes, a lot of "local" ads certainly show up, but with these I mentioned, they would not be local....they were live reads.
