    excellent move already.

Kenny Britt was a *TERRIBLE* signing.  How in the world an 'analytics' guy committed that much guaranteed money to someone with that track record sans 2016, especially when looking at secondary numbers, is a mystery.

That's like a guy saying young hot thin feminine brunettes are his type then marrying amy schumer.

But if they waive every WR that can't catch, will we have any left to put out there?

    Sure, Taylor Gabriel.... oh, wait

I'm not really sure what the point of this is.

  • Can you think of a better way for a GM to immediately indear himself to fans and the coaching staff in one move. He doesn't even wait for the offseason. Just tells Britt to get the Shmuck out. I parked my car in my drive way, saw the notification on my phone, and broke out laughing. I hope they just resign Leslie with the open roster spot..

  • I like this GM already.

  •  finally. Kenny Britt was trash.

  • Here is a link for his contract details, fyi

Doesn't kill them by making this move now

  • I guess we're going to find out pretty quickly who Sashi's boys are..... 1 down, more to go.

Yup. MHO? Sashi was too proud (or arrogant) to admit he get it "consensus pumpers"? Made a serious mistake. I'll bet there were around 5 others that will come out in the wash that can be laid at his feet. And though I'm not going to repost from my take in another thread- it's multiple instances of major misjudging of talent by the anal-itics guys why Brown is out of town. Golly gee, no friction between the Sashi and coaching staff? LOL!!!!

So essentially we're paying him around $4.8 million (the rest of his guaranteed signing bonus) to make him go away. His base salary for 2018 was only guaranteed if he made the roster.

the thing is....Britt was the OPPOSITE of an analytics move.  He was a receiver who had ok raw numbers from the 2016 campaign.....diving deeper into things and the secondary numbers from his whole career through 2015 were trash.  He was the classic example of a move where the data and projections were very much at odds with giving him that deal.

bash Sashi all you want for the britt signing.  It was a bad move, and just one reason he was shitcanned.  but don't bash analytics for it.

Let me defend myself a little bit. I didn't specifically say Britt was an analytics pick. They have been relying on analytics way too much though. At the time I DID say beware of guys coming off a contract year. When the Bean Counter told Pryor to take a hike because he wanted too much, they put all their eggs in one basket betting Britt would repeat his contract year. Um. wrong, he got lazy once he got paid. Happens way too often.

You could have done that more succinctly and less annoyingly:

  • If he fires Hue. I would be happy.

I know he can’t. But one can dream

  • Seems to me like Dorsey has known for some period of time that he was eventually going to be our GM.  Probably not a LOONG time...but time enough to figure out that Britt was useless.

This is good.  It gives our new GM 4 games to view, learn and understand the players, coaches, etc. so going into the offseason he's got a huge leg up on if he was hired the first week of January.

He doesn’t seem like a guy that will put up with Sheet.

Hopefully he will see that in Hue. And fire him too

Too bad Jimmy won’t allow that

We know what Jimmuh said....but there's 25% of the season yet to go.   A lot can change in 4 games.

This is exactly right. This doesn't as much demonstrate the GM taking action as much as it does him supporting his coach. This clearly shows that Sashi and his ego forced Hue to keep Britt on the roster. This was a Hue decision supported by Dorsey.

I'm looking forward to do the same stuff you do but with more modern music, hehehe.

Can't be worse than his predecessor.

Unless we go minus 1 and 17 next year.

  • Nice! Now maybe he will waive kizer so we can maybe win one of these last 4 😉
