Regardless of position what player not now expected to go in the 1st round is your darkhorse for 2018? Take one or even two if you like. No cover all bases multiple picks allowed.

For me this year it will be Sony Michel RB Georgia. I may add one more after combine/pro days. I would put WR Kirk as well, but he is in the 1st round according to some mocks.

For all the talk of Chubb, Michel was way more impressive to me. The kid is explosive.

    Max Redfield, S, IUP

Former highly touted ND recruit, got into some trouble there and transferred to IUP for his Senior year. Protypical NFL safety size and instincts, will make it to somebody's camp and stick ... could be the next Teshaun Gipson, safety that comes out of nowhere.

Allen Lazard WR Iowa State 6'5" 223lbs ........ huge target, good hands ....not sure his projected round tho

Siran Neal S Jacksonville State ...... Talented small school safety who we could get in the 4th round, physical and aggressive defender.....invited to senior bowl interested to see how he does

Sony Michel for me. He just has serious explosion and instincts. He isn't much smaller than Barkley I think....

and Flugels's Anthony Miller out of Memphis.

Hey Ag, thanks for doing this. Should be fun..

    I’ve got 2:

DJ Moore, WR, Maryland 5’11, 215

    (Projected Rds 4-6)

Built like Alvin Kamara, but can certainly play receiver. Strong, fast, and shifty. I think he will be a solid slot receiver in the league.

Jake Wieneke, WR, South Dakota St 6’4 205

Only got one D1 offer out of HS. Smooth route runner, solid hands. Not the fastest but knows his routes make up for it. Put up insane numbers his junior season. Plays like a 6’4 Adam Thielen.

8 catches, 196 yds, 2 TDS vs TCU

Define what you mean by darkhorse.     Do you mean....someone who is not currently rated very high......but who will end up being drafted in the first round?    Or do you mean who is someone who will be drafted somewhat lower, but who will turn out to be a top quality  NFL player?

You know....like  e.g.    who is that guy who will drafted in round 6 but who will turn out to be a 5 time champion?   (In terms of QBs....there are a couple of those:   Mr. 199....Brady with 5 titles...so far.  and Mr. 200 with 5 title:  Bart Starr)

Or, do you mean a guy that everyone thought was overdrafted..and may have been .....like David Heyward Bey?   Or like.....a guy who most thought would likely be a UDFA but got picked in round 3....like Cody Kessler?

To me...there may be a couple:  A.  a guy that may not be picked until like until round 2...but may end up being the best at his position:   Mason Rudolph

    B. Glenn Robinson  Purdue  Power Forward.  (actually  a DE)

Ditto... Benkert will rise to end up going in the first set of Compensatory Picks.

This kid from Penn, Justin Watson (WR), that is flashing in Sr Bowl practices looks like another candidate.

    WR Arden Tate

    S Armani Watts

DT Thompson out of Georgia ( first name escapes me)

    http://draftwire.usatoday.com/2018/01/23/2018-senior-bowl-winners-losers-from-south-teams-day-1-practice/4/

LOSER | Kurt Benkert | QB | Virginia

To be fair, none of the South quarterbacks flashed anything terribly impressive on the first day of practice, but Benkert seemed to have the most struggles. With the North roster looking stacked with players such as Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield and Wyoming’s Josh Allen, Benkert has an opportunity to take command of the South squad. Instead, inconsistency was the theme of his Tuesday. Missing the mark multiple times throughout the day, his lack of accuracy reared its head on multiple occasions. While he did have some positive moments, his overall roller-coaster performance will leave scouts wanting more the rest of the week.

    WINNER | M.J. Stewart | CB | North Carolina

Physical at the line of scrimmage, this former Tar Heel easily looked like the best corner on the whole South squad Tuesday. Giving fits to receivers in press coverage, Stewart was an island on which quarterbacks struggled to find any space to work.

The star of 1-on-1 drills, Stewart was able to win every snap against his target. Easily overpowering his counterparts, Stewart’s 31-inch arms allowed him to minimize separation over the top and consistently bat the ball out of the air. If he keeps this up all week, Stewart will be climbing the corner rankings.

    I’m adding one more.

    Braxton Berrios, WR, Miami.

Slot guy who’s going to run crisp routes and catch everything

Gip-I defined darkhorse as anyone not now (currently) rated in most of the mocks as a 1st rounder.

Sometimes scouts get it right and by draft time they rise right into it. That can't be helped so just go with that initial definition i.e. not currently 1st round.
