I don't follow. I think with this signing it is pretty clear they don't want the rookie thrust into action this year due to an injury to Taylor. So they get a journeyman to help teach the young guy and also take any emergency snaps while he learns.

Yes some of any Quarterback’s numbers good or bad are due in part to his surrounding cast. At least Stanton has 17 starts and some numbers under his belt.

    1. Taylor 2. Stanton 3. Kessler?  Draftee?

    Especially with an established starter.

I think the BROWNS should build to contend in 2019, they may be on their way to that.

  • This means the end of both Hogan and Kessler.

  • Wow, I'm f u c k i n g excited...

  • Taylor, number 1 pick and Stanton. Could be wayyyy worse at the position based on the years of football we've watched.

  • Bye Cody

    Bye Kevin

  • Our third QB this year will be better than any of our options last year (unless we draft Josh Allen).  Thank Shmuck.

    That's exactly what it means.

Good veteran presence in the QB room.

  • Really you people are excited about a veteran QB that completes 52% of his passes and you want to complain about Allen’s completion %

My thoughts exactly. I wonder if they try to hold off a bit before releasing them, just to keep their draft plans muddied.

    No more PoG Hogan bait?

    No more "trust me" Cody?

    How will the Browns survive?

  • Now those two can focus on their true calling.... keeping Johnny Football from getting a roster spot in the CFL!

  • 2016 Training Camp arms=RG3,McCown,Austin Davis,Kessler..2017 TC arms=Brock,Kessler,Hogan,Kizer..2018=Taylor,Stanton,Rookie,Hogan? was just re-signed for $630k(so what)nothing was guaranteed. Am thinking Kessler maybe the release & may cost us a few more dollars to release him? $1.2M (so what)

  • I have this feeling this means they are leaning Allen...They want to give him the longest possible chance to develop

Stanton is  a proven bum. So? He can lose games as easily as Kessler of Kizer could.  He's a backup, certainly not the QBOTF.
