LOL we should be able to get a high 8th round pick

Kessler’s problem is he has a head coach that said Josh McCown should retire and thought Deshone Kizer was ready to start

And handed RGIII the starting job for reasons only known to him.

I'm so excited to have him infecting... uh, passing his wisdom to the guy we take with the #1 overall pick.

OK Dutch now we know what you want for your birthday this year.  😆

Seriously though unless there are any additional QB moves in the next 30 days it looks like 1. Taylor 2. Stanton 3. Draftee/Hogan. So it's just a matter of how they want this quarterback situation to look in 2018 and 2019.

Hey maybe a real quarterback succession plan!

  • Kess may get us from pick 175 to pick 174 if someone wants a camp arm with starting experience.

He displayed good accuracy as a rookie, but doesn't have NFL arm strength or durability, and doesn't elude a pass rush well.

His best hope is to make a roster, win a couple relief games and hold on long enough to have a Drew Stanton-like career.

With this recent insane quarterback bidding war going on you never know what someone might offer here. 2019 pick?

The BROWNS really don't need any additional  low level 2018 picks, again stay tuned!

Sort of agree... some team, a team nearer the top of the league than the bottom, will see "possibilities" for him as a backup with talent around him.

Not going to spend much to acquire him, but a 6th or 7th, maybe a mid-6th for Kess and our 7th, let's them skip the long waiver-claim line in front of them.

  • According to Ian Rappaport of NFL Network, Kessler has been traded to the Jaguars

  • Former #Browns QB Cody Kessler goes to the #Jaguars to in exchange for a conditional draft pick in 2019, source said. The starter as a rookie gets a fresh start in Jacksonville

  • Is Dorsey a wheeler and dealer or what?

The phone lines are burning up.

  • Good landing spot for Kessler.

  • Conditional 7th rounder in 2019

When you consider what we've got for Kess and Shelton compared to what we got for a punter in Andy Lee 🤔

  • So Hue's earth moving 3rd rounder (that many of us at the time said at the time was a late rounder at best) gets a conditional 7th rounder. Thrilling isn't it.

    Thanks Hue you jackoff.

  • I actually think HJ was taking one for the FO when he said he chose Kessler, he really isn’t his type of QB and on paper Kessler did kind of stand out a bit “analytically”

  • Good landing spot for Kessler.

Actually, yes, from this standpoint:     Bortles was the ONLY QB on the Jags roster!!   They had no backup.  I know because I have them in our Browns Board mock draft and checked that out.   I would have drafted what as left of the Top 6......but they were all gone by the time the Jags turn came up.

My only question is:  why does it have to be "conditional"?   So....if he does not stay on the roster this year...or produce a certain amount what...the Browns get nothing?

Keep in mind, Andy Lee COULD punt...he just wouldn’t tackle. ?

    Conditional 7th rounder.

I guess, OK, for a guy that should have been a UDFA in the first place......and for a guy they were likely to cut.

Nearer the top than the bottom? Check...

    6th or 7th? Check...

I believe I can claim this acorn!

  • A small part of me wonders what would have happened if Cody was thrown into a better situation and not literally to the wolves. He was absolutely thrusted into action because all our QB's died and frankly didn't even look terrible. Maintaining an over 65% completion rating throwing to TP and a bunch of scrubs isn't something to scoff at.

I still would have also liked to see what would have happened if he got the week one nod, but here we are.

  • Sorry...merge if need be.

  • Looks like POG is right.......
