I think we are in a good place with having Hoyer and then a drafted QB some where between out two 1st rounders and 2nd rounder. Even if we take a guy at #4 or trade up to get a QB (don't see it happening) I don't think our coaching staff or front office is going to feel the need to throw them in there to start wk 1 unless Hoyer's knee doesn't heal on squedule. If all things work out perfectly, maybe Hoyer starts for 2-3 years with good play before we start this years QB pick.

The above would also be my ideal scenario. We'll just have to wait & see what happens.

Browns fans had to suffer watching "Bryan Hoyer" lmao. Might have been a good read but i stopped after reading that. 1. Bryan Hoyer is spelled Brian Hoyer and 2. watching him win 2 games was not suffering. Whats the deal with all these Manziel fanboys? They can't talk about the almighty Manziel without putting down Hoyer like he's going to keep us from drafting a qb. I don't like when people talk about my Browns players that don't deserve it. Talk about Weedone and Little all ya want. If we draft Manziel all you fanboys better hope we have Hoyer cause Johnny Streetball needs to watch and learn for a lil bit.

Exactly- anyone who thought Hoyer did a "bad" job at quarterback obviously didn't watch the games he played in.

Good Lord, that was incoherent until we figured out you were talking about John Elway's comment regarding Johnny Football. Maybe Elway knows a thing or two about running the football- he's #6 on the all time list for running qbs- and he didn't start winning Super Bowls until he primarily turned into a pocket passer. Him and Steve Young are the only ones in the top 10 who ever won Championships. Don't forget Young had the luxury of sitting behind Joe Montana for years- and inherited a stud roster.
You can write just about anything in a blog, and IMHO the guy who wrote it must be Manziel's agent. There is absolutely no such thing as "sure thing" in the NFL draft. Elway and Luck were mighty close- and Elway struggled mightily his first few years in the league. Our blogger friend is obviously too young to have seen them play extensively in games. Anyone who isn't a total stiff can look great in highlight reels.
I'll say this- Hoyer has as much chance of being the next Kurt Warner as Manziel does of being the next Fran Tarkenton.

Since when did we decide Hoyer has excellent potential?@mike-h said:

this man love shit is going to keep on going until the actual pick comes may in the draft.
at this point reading and hearing all the shit posted i could give a living shit who they pick.
saw farmer and haslem in the box today watching the combine and it seems to to me that haslam has a lot more confidence in farmer than he did with heckyl and jeckyl.
they were both watching the OL very carefully. don't be surprised when it ain't a QB @4 and we trade down.

I dont see a trade down, but possibly a trade up from 26, or us using our 2nd rounder to get a third first rounder.this man love shit is going to keep on going until the actual pick comes may in the draft.

yes, i can see that too. but if all of farmer's QBs that you think might be in the top five he has no real respect for........i'm saying don't be surprised that he looks at other positions. and if he can get the guy he wants by trading down a spot or two gives him that chance.......i think he can sell it to pettine and haslam no probs.
hey. i've come a long way to seeing what JF could do for our team.and yes big hands can make all the difference in the world. BUT the mind-set that never goes away is progression look down and then run will get you killed in the NFL.
farmer is going to be our anti-holmgren, and whatever he decides to do, i'm with him. 100%.

Hell I think its completely possible all of these QB prospects fall. Maybe thats what we trade up for? Anyone can talk big, doesn't mean anything.

Is Clowney all hype?
After all he made 1 GREAT play and then took a year off
anyone who watched the games knows that isn't true.
-
if manziel plays a safe, clean game for us, if we draft him, I have no problems with it. You know hes a guy whos going to be looking for our primary targets like Gordon and Cameron, and can extend plays. The only thing is, is he worth the 1st round pick? Can we get somebody whos good enough without using that 4th pick? We can still improve our D a bit, in a way where we would only need a decent qb and a better running back to go all the way. We don't need an amazing player, as long as everyone else is good.

You well know I think there's about three other qbs that have even more excellent potential than Johnny Football- and IIRC, you have at least one.

And I could give a rat's ass what some blogger thinks who obviously didn't even watch any tape on Hoyer, and is polesmoking JF. Go look up what Walter Football said a few years back about RGII that three firsts and a second was the "correct" price to pay for him. I think if I were a Redskins fan, I'd want an apology about that comment.
