Fauhking idiots. As if whoever the Steelers replace him with will not be just as good, maybe better. Every fahking year you morons invent imaginary scenarios that YOU THINK are the smoking gun that will FINALLY mean the demise of the Steelers.

What is even FUNNIER................... is that resident chief JACKOFF HOORTA has gone on and on and on about how Barkley was not a good draft pick because the RB is not important in todays game. LMAO.... BUT BUT BUT............................. all of a sudden you homos think the Steelers entire team is wrapped up in a RB? LMAO.

Watch Bells replacement DESTROY the Browns. Then spend the rest of the week scratching your azzess wondeing how this happened.

YESSSS? YOu say? YESSSSSSSSSS.............. dumb butt Browns relax, let up your intensity, fall asleep thinking that the Steelers won't be ready for the Schidtstains.

If anyone "destroys" the Browns....it will be BR and Brown.   Not Bells replacement.  Last year, in that first game, the Steelers gained all of 35 yards vs. the Browns on the ground...that was WITH Bell.   This Browns defense is better than that, and Bell won't be there.

No, if the Browns lose, it will be because they still win not learned how to handle A. Brown.

Sincerely, you only friend on this board,  TG

Fair enough.   Last year has no bearing on this year.  But the fact remains, the Stoolers now have an unknown quantity  backup RB going instead of a proven All Pro going.  I suppose you would also say that if BR were out and the Stoolers had Josh Dobbs as their starting QB, that that would make no difference?   Same basic thing.

AGAIN....you do nothing but reinforce my point about how fahking stupid you idiots are. On and on and on you blasted me about how Barkley was not a good pick because the RB is not important in today's game, but here you idiots are having orgasms about a RB not playing.

I don't think I personally said that Barkley would not be a good pickup....if he were there at the #4 spot the Browns were drafting.  I just said that it was more imperative that they take the best QB, the far more important position. (would you argue that?)  I also said that I didn't think that the dropoff in talent available in the draft from Barkley was all that much.  That someone like Chubb, or Penny or Michel or Guice could turn out to be as good as Barkley.   And that may still be exactly the case.  We have no clue yet.

Sincerely,  Your only friend on this board   TG

  • I'd like to point out something that Bell's agent very correctly stated. In these situations we always talk about why the player is a POS for not honoring a contract, tender, etc. The issue no one seems to raise however is that the owners/GMs by that very same argument get ZERO crap for doing the exact same thing. They cut players all the time (see Dan Bailey) and don't honor contracts but for some reason that's okay. But when a dude like Bell holds out for what he's worth, he's a scumbag. Extremely inconsistent logic.

There's the fallacy- Bell thinks he's worth far more than the $14 million he's scheduled to make under the franchise tag. Also willing to piss away damn near $900,000 this Sunday to prove a point, and in the process has gotten a bunch of the team pissed off at him because "it's all about ME and the money".

Barkley wasn't a good pick at #1, and Bell is a douche for not playing. Remains to be seen if he would make a difference.

And you do nothing to prove once again you're a flamebaiting troll.

NIce try Larry. Barkley has impressed and will continue to impress. The point is... you spent the last 10 years talking against every RB chosen in the draft who made us look like idiots (Starting with AP, who we missed the boat on) On an on, your eff crusted beard flapps under your pie hole about how this is a passing game and RBs are insignificant.................. Wash your beard and make up your mind. Either an RB is important or not. It can't change just because you don't like the Steelers, who, by the way, own the fake Browns....YOUR team.

Trent Richardson is all you need to know Trollie- who I said was a big mistake at the get go. Now go cry in your Terrible Towel.

AP? Go look at your zero anal-itics. Peterson has never made the Super Bowl. Yeah- I liked Zeke Elliott, but he's never been either. Hey doopa head- running backs are dime a dozen.

  • gotta agree with bell here.  hes well aware the plan was to run the wheels off him and let him go after this season.  had 400+ touches last year, can only assume it would be a large workload this year.  run him into the ground, cast him aside...nah, he saw it coming and decided to sit this one out.  good for him.  he'll only be 27 next year so sohuld dbe able to cash in for more than the measly 10m guaranteed they offered him in the spring.

    Completely agree... however...

Bell still has to accrue this season to become a UFA in 2019. That means he has to play in at least 6 games in 2018... play for someone.

I mean, the market says he is worth more than that. Todd Gurley just got $40 million guaranteed, why would Bell not get that contract as well? Holdouts are what get deals done in the NFL. The owners get a total pass on not honoring contracts, but when players do it they're scumbags despite the market stating their worth is higher.

What the players are doing in Pittsburgh is extremely rare to do publicly. Any NFL player will tell you that just about the #1 unwritten rule is to never get into people's business when it comes to contracts and money.

He was offered 33m guaranteed,  paid out over the first 2 years. The Steelers would have used him like they have used him every season prior to this one. Frankly as a fan I'm over it. Connor had a great preseason and is ready to assume a larger work load. Bell can go salary molest another team with a ton of cap room.

Bell is older, two suspensions and he had a knee surgery. Bell is a terrific back, the best in the league but he wants paid for two positions. He was offered at the time the largest contract ever given to a hb and he turned it down. His contract offer was not drastically different than Gurley's. Gurley also has a clause in his contract with guarantees and injury I believe to boot. Bell can go get the mint he believes he is owed from another team.

Annnnnd the season is starting. The money thing is how things are handled in the offseason, not during practice for week one. Bell said he was going to report, he hasn't and the line is pissed off. They weren't messing with his "money" until he lied, further more the steelers can't offer him more until after the season so any "messing with his money" will be with another team. He probably shouldn't have blown smoke up a bunch of people's asses.

that $33m was not fully guaranteed

    Ian Rapoport@RapSheet
Mentioned yesterday the #Steelers final offer to RB Le’Veon Bell was 5 years, $70M. More context today: The fully guaranteed part was his signing bonus of just over $10M. He would’ve made $33M over the 1st two years — in a rolling guaranteed structure. $45M over the 1st 3 years.

funny how you know very little about your team...

Oh no the house of pizzburgh is cracking with a 36 year old QB, a 9 year vetern main WR and a main RB who can't live with the NFL rules......and live on $14,000,000 a year! Oh no!

And despite that, he's been the best RB in the league. To not offer a similar contract which you clearly didn't know (see choco's post) is a slap in the face. You're not wrong about Gurley's contract, but his fully guaranteed money is north of $20 million. Maybe he could have handled the end game better, but the Steelers despite what you've said absolutely abused Bell the past three seasons. He absolutely deserves what he's asking for and the Steelers scoffed. It's their right to do it, but I'd see it as a huge slap in the face if I was Bell too. Probably because as cheapskates go, the Steelers are only 2d to the Bengals amongs NFL franchises?

And that tells us that Leveon Bell has gone beyond what other players must have ever done to alienate his teammates.  Or that, whomever is now in control of the Steelers after Dan Rooney died does not have nearly the respect of Steeler players the way that Dan or his Dad Art had.

Let's ask this question:     If, say after 6 weeks, Bell says "I am ready to come back, open the door, let me in",   can the Steeler say "no thank you,  we think we got a guy that can do everything you can who is much younger and cheaper.....be on your way now" (not that I think that will be true).   Can they do that, not pay him at all?   Would they have to release him,  making him free to sign anywhere for the rest of this season?

Or, at this point, could the Steelers even trade him?  Get something for him, even a low draft pick?  (out of the division/conference, that is....better for them to do it that way, since if they just release him, he could sign anywhere, even within the division.  I bet the Ravens would be glad to scoop him up).

They offered him the richest running back contract in the history of the league and he turned it down. Gurley signed after bell. They just don't overpay. He deserves 17m per year at the most volatile position in the league?

And how did they "abuse" him. He wants paid a Sheet load of money because of what he can do. Bell ain't the only cog in the wheel. Check the steelers record without him.

He just signs the tag and he's fine. If they release him they lose a 3rd round compensatory  pick. They would need to rescind the tag to tell him no. They can trade him but the cost is two first round draft picks I believe for a franchise tag.

I mean, the market says he is worth more than that. Todd Gurley just got $40 million guaranteed, why would Bell not get that contract as well?

Probably because as cheapskates go, the Steelers are only 2d to the Bengals amongs NFL franchises?

Holdouts are what get deals done in the NFL. The owners get a total pass on not honoring contracts, but when players do it they're scumbags despite the market stating their worth is higher.

What the players are doing in Pittsburgh is extremely rare to do publicly. Any NFL player will tell you that just about the #1 unwritten rule is to never get into people's business when it comes to contracts and money.

And that tells us that Leveon Bell has gone beyond what other players must have ever done to alienate his teammates.  Or that, whomever is now in control of the Steelers after Dan Rooney died does not have nearly the respect of Steeler players the way that Dan or his Dad Art had.

You are talking out of your butt. The Steelers aren't cheap. Art II has the team and he's been around a long butt time. The Steelers don't really mess too much with hold outs, look what happened when Hines tried the same and bell cannot get a nickel more from the steelers until AFTER the season so holding out now doesn't guarantee him anything more.
